Spore Mines are used by the Tyranids as living, floating mines which explode if any non-Tyranid lifeform gets too close to one. Spore mines possess a rudimentary animal intelligence, are full of poisons, toxins, viruses and chemicals and are covered in sensitive feelers which seek out heat and vibrations.

It infects damaged units, dealing 25 spore damage over 5 seconds, this damage is reduced to 18.75 against units in retreat. The infection can spread to other non-infected infantry within radius 8.
