Warrior Brood

“!!!”

The Tyranid Warrior is one of the most common type of troops used by a Tyranid swarm. Warriors are among the most important Tyranid species deployed by a Hive Fleet in battle as well, as not only are they powerful and deadly creatures in their own right, but they also serve as Tyranid synapse creatures.

Melee Resistance Aura

This unit takes 40% less damage from melee weapons. Passive ability.

Basic Synapse

Reduces the received ranged and melee damage, and received suppression of non-Warrior, non-hero Tyranids by 20%. Ranged damage reduction is increased to 24%/28%/31% at level 2/3/4. Also increases Tyrant Guard speed by 1.5. Radius 32. Passive ability.

Synapse Backlash

When a Warrior model dies, its synapse connection to surrounding Tyranid units is torn away. In a radius 25, Hormagaunts, Termagants, Raveners, Rippers, and the Tier 3 Lictor all take damage equal to 14% of their maximum health; Genestealers take damage equal to 18% of their maximum health; Carnifexes and Tyrant Guards take damage equal to 10% of their maximum health. Weapon knockback is dealt to the aforementioned units as well. The Synapse Backlash can only occur once every 1.5 seconds. Passive ability.

Melee Synapse

Allied Hormagaunts, Genestealers, and non-Devourer Raveners in radius 32 have their health increased by 40%, melee skill increased by 10, and Hormagaunt's charge range is increased to 14. Requires the Adrenal Glands upgrade. Passive ability.

Desiccator Larvae
60 60

Desiccators erupt in a radius 20 around the Warrior Brood and persist on the ground for 15 seconds. Increases damage taken by enemy infantry by 20%. 60 second cooldown.

Electroshock Grub
50 40

Launch electroshock grubs into a vehicle or monstrous creature to hamper its circuitry. Inflicts 160 melta damage, snares target vehicle's speed and rotation rates by 60% for 15 seconds, and disables weaponry for 2 seconds. Range 24, 40 second cooldown.

Barbed Strangler  | T1
50 20 15

Upgrades one member of the squad with a ranged suppression biomorph effective against massed and garrisoned infantry. Barbed Stranglers launch seed pods in an indirect arc which erupt on impact, suppressing enemy infantry in radius 6. Removes knockback leaps and reduces speed by 0.5. 35 Barbed Strangler damage per shot.

Adrenal Glands  | T2
120 30 15

Increases the Warrior brood's health by 65%, melee skill by 10 and upgrades melee attack (30 heavy melee DPS). Reinforcement cost is increased by 15/3. Emits additional Melee Synapse that augments Hormagaunts, Genestealers and upgraded Raveners, increasing health by 40%, melee skill by 10 and improving Hormagaunts charge to range 14. Cannot be purchased alongside Thorax Swarm.

Thorax Swarm  | T2
75 25 15

Increases the Warrior Brood's speed by 0.5 and removes the Barbed Strangler speed penalty, increases the squad's health by 20%, and grants the Electroshock Grub and Desiccator Larvae abilities. Squads with Thorax Swarm cannot be upgraded with Adrenal Glands.
