Re: Elite Mod 2.6(Test Version) Changelog and Feedback Thread

Bay of Grots is a classic and Catachan Fortress should be retained, otherwise Odd has it right. Whatever else though retain Return to Golgotha, like watching the Star Wars Holiday Special it's a rite of passage.

A guide Sticky...

Replays are wonderful guys but some of us just don't learn that well from video alone, could we get a faction guide sticky setup and figure out who will write them? Might help us bring in some new blood, Emperor knows we need it.

Re: The solution to the eldar question...

Kind of curious on the guardsmen front, how do the LC and the Inquisitor handle eldar?

Re: Elite Mod 2.6(Test Version) Changelog and Feedback Thread

On the shee front any hope for correcting the leaping doom? My scouts are currently swearing at the techmarines for faulty ammo... On strike squads I'm of the opinion that yeah their special is way too potent just out of the gate, it kind of needs to be rolled into a cheap and easy early upgrade lik...

Re: The solution to the eldar question...

The eldar git I'm dealing with is especially fond of his banshees, need a way to spank them hard early on that still allows me to make it to t2 on schedule.

The solution to the eldar question...

I don't care what the solution is save that it not involve playing the eldar, how do I win against them? I don't care what faction you use, what solution kills them and kills them good? Personal roster: SM with FC, willing to branch out into the Apoth and Tech if it helps me put a powerfist up the e...

Re: Elite Mod 2.6(Test Version) Changelog and Feedback Thread

On the subject of SM eye candy... Whirlwinds: Whirlwinds don't have a place in every SM matchup simply by virtue of being horde breakers, wonderful against IG and nids, decent with orks and (perhaps) eldar but sucking against other marines. I think the whirlwind should be downgraded in cost to 300 r...

Re: Elite Mod 2.6(Test Version) Changelog and Feedback Thread

Sad but true Atlas, that does bring me to another question though. Will the Chaplain ever see the light of day in Elite? Perhaps as a t1 subhero like the painboy + 20% more "oophm"?

Re: Elite Mod 2.6(Test Version) Changelog and Feedback Thread

With Eldar rangers I do have a suggestion, tracer shots. The rangers can switch between it and their suppression ammo like Sternguard Tacs. It does low damage (but inferno like psilencers) and in radius X (give me a number guys) gives all allied units a 10% bonus to ranged damage and a 10-20% bonus ...

Re: Balance units

Alacrity kind of sucks in my view...artificer just outclasses it by virtue of being the third leg of the cheesehammer combo. If I had my druthers (and teleport pack didn't exist) I would replace AA with a jump-pack suit.

Re: Balance units

On the subject of crappy early game wargear... FC Power Sword Statistics: The Power Sword maintains it's statistics, the plasma pistol is exchanged for a Storm Bolter (piercing damage, 40 damage per hit & 20.00 damage per second). Goal: The goal is to make the Power Sword better by coupling it w...

I thought them having both "I love the smell" and explosive shot would be OP?

Your opinion on the rest of is psycho (do remember that "I love the smell of" is strictly optional)?

Catachan pyromaniacs...

The title says it all, Catachans are kind of screwy in their role after t2 hits. Catachans are often depicted in the lore with flamers and it would seem to make sense to give them flamers instead of guardsmen. I propose that they get three flamers per quad instead of four but otherwise directly port...

Re: Community Choose Your Own Adventure - OM

@Black Relic

I was thinking something more along the lines of this guy (http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Torquemada_Coteaz), basically a much more melee oriented character then the IG Inquisitor (if I remember correctly Ordo Malleus is much more melee then the Ordo Herecticus).

Re: Community Choose Your Own Adventure - OM

Alright but there is still one other matter to be discussed, to go from subfaction to actual faction. I've been looking at the acolyte model from the SS squad and I'm wondering why not just make his the inquisition hero for the OM? Reason for this is twofold, one OM needs more variation and two the ...

Re: Community Choose Your Own Adventure - OM

That does remind me...could IST be reworked into a slightly less fragile unit? If crusaders are a no go then IST needs to be made viable. Just give em a raise to 250 a piece and 125 health per model. Also could the poor things get what their brothers in arms in the IG get? Meltas and Melta bombs as ...

Re: Community Choose Your Own Adventure - OM

In all honesty I wouldn't rework purifiers, instead if the crusaders prevail into this mod they should have an upgrade that makes them a living wargear along the lines of FC chainsword and shield. We need a linebreaker that early, otherwise eldar and anyone else with suppression will just lay down d...

Re: Community Choose Your Own Adventure - OM

T2 terminators is not as impossible as it seems...the imperial guard provides a t2 super heavy unit in the Ogryn and it certainly isn't unbalanced by any stretch. So to be hypothetical this is what the GK t2 terminator would look like. GK t2 Terminator Role: Linebreaker, soft anti vehicle Cost Reinf...

It would seem traitors are a no go... So how about another veteran for the Imperial Guard...Emperor knows they need it. Cadian Shocktroops Parent unit: Guardsmen Squad Upgrade cost and tier: It costs 115 requisition and 15 power to purchase this upgrade at tier 3. Limit: Effectively "none"...

What is specifically wrong with them Karn? You have to point out what's OP (perhaps they are simply too cheap for what they do) before anyone can have a go at bringing them in line. And another veteran while I'm at it, this one for the Imperial Guard. Bone 'ead Squad Parent unit: Ogryn Squad Upgrade...

I was looking through the Codex when I noticed the Sternguard and Vanguard marine upgrades, that makes me wonder if perhaps a few other units could use "veteran" upgrades. Here is one such veteran, for chaos. Traitors Parent unit: Heretics Upgrade cost and tier: It costs 60 requisition and...

Alright I like DoW II: Elite but the game itself is old...and I think that DoW III itself is something of a future in some company far, far away. Admittedly if the worship would cloak the Heretics themselves it would actually make up for the "detector=screwed" weakness... It just distinctly feels like that CS heretics should be doing something else...something sorcerous. Area stealth feels more like something the Shrine should be do...

I promise to make Tzeentch great again...

I have in my forays into Chaos noted a problem child...the Sorcerer. He just doesn't perform to the level of the CL or PC, the problem lies not in the sorcerer himself (although a new tier 3 staff to round out the wargear would be nice) but in his underlings. How could the followers of Tzeentch be s...
