Re: Two Newbros: Balance at low-level?
As for the setup vs melee debate, one setup team is pretty much a counter to numerous melee squads... I no longer build them, except purely to upgrade to anti-armor. They haven't worked, ever, a single time. Whether this is due to him having map hacks, whether he is just lucky, or whatever else, th...

Re: Two Newbros: Balance at low-level?
At mid levels of play, you will disperse your army and always let your hero run straight at them to tie them up. Thus they shoot at most one volley at your army and then they are out of the battle and the Eldar player says Wraithguard UP! What happens to me vs my noob buddy (and he did this the fir...

Re: Two Newbros: Balance at low-level?
You're entirely right Mr. Newbros, Eldar and Tyranids are op af and we should take immediate action to nerf them. I'm glad to see that fresh eyes see what has been plainly obvious to me since before I even owned a computer. It is an innate, instinctual knowledge that has informed everything I know ...

Two Newbros: Balance at low-level?
Hello, we are two newbros. We posted once in General a few weeks ago and got very good and polite responses. We like this game and community. At any rate, we would like comments on an assertion we have come up with. We think balance at low levels of play is... interesting to say the least. In playin...

Re: Two Newbros: A few gameplay questions
Banshee spam is very easy to beat compared to the real horror that is good shuriken usage... In fact, 3x DA is harder to beat than banshee spam. I believe you 100%. Currently our skill is at 'suck level 0' (henceforth to be known as SL0) So at this level it is extremely easy for him to mash 'build ...

Re: Two Newbros: A few gameplay questions
In other developments, it appears I cannot beat his banshee spam no matter what I do. All he has to do is mash "build banshee" over and over again (5+ banshees) and a-move his banshees at my Chaos. Last attempt I built 3 havoks and tried to place them as best as I could and they did absolu...

Two Newbros: A few gameplay questions
A friend and I started playing this mod recently. We try to do 1v1s most days of the week for a few hours. We have a few questions. My friend was main'ing IG for a while, against my CSM. He had serious issues whenever I got a dread out in T2. We looked at all his T1-T2 options, i.e. heavy weapons te...

Re: Straight out - Nobs are OP
Capping units is in my opinion a capitulation to poor balance design. I think you should try to lift as many as possible rather than introducing more. I've always believed this as well, and said as much the other day on another game's forum. Hell, I say lift the caps on Unclean Ones and Avatars etc...

Eldar racial theme or mechanic?
Last time I was here on these forums (a couple of years ago, roughly), Eldar was being somewhat revamped. Units were being moved between tiers, there were a buttload of nerfs statwise, etc. I assume all of that is finished now. I am simply asking... what is the finished product? I want to know the &...

I haven't been here in a while. When did this happen? And is Caeltos still involved?

Is Torpid the balance arbiter now, or is it still Caeltos?

Re: "The community" and DOW3
Had seen that link too. It really doesn't answer my question though, and it's old-ish. I'd just like to know what the 'community consensus' is, whether a good portion of the community will play it (or is playing it), what they think, etc. I agree, and disagree, that I should care about what other pe...

"The community" and DOW3
Long time fan - played original dow, dow2, and elite (although sucked at all of them). I haven't played dow3 yet, and just found out yesterday that it has been released. I was wondering what the elite players think of dow3. Do you believe most of them will stay away? Or will most of them gravitate t...
