Pretty detailed analysis, well done. This comes from a very average player who's played around a bit with the Apo and SM in general. The apo shines in T1 where the heal on tacs/asm makes a huge difference as the dps levels remain quite low across the board. Once T2 hits the damage spikes quite a lot...

Sidearm Range Buff
Does anyone know what ended up happening to the commander sidearm range buff that was being talked about a while back? Maybe it shouldn't be in effect while moving/charging but a stationary commander should have standard range, kinda like tac/csm sergeants.

WIth the drop pod costing 350 and giving a tac squad, you're almost kinda paying 400 for each squad in the end. I guess it's up to you if 100 red is worth 100 req.

Tactical Marines scale better for 2 reasons as far as I can see, plasma weapons give them a potential dps against heavy infantry and super heavy infantry that SS can't deal with as well come t2-t3. Apart from "gkt3overpowerednerf" cries I'd say that strike squad are kind of alright with their current ranged damage. From the codex: Tac damage: 25 damage per hit / 14.58 damage per second SS damage: 28 damage per hit / 16.33 damage per second I think this is where the difficulty in T1 ...

Can anyone modify the gate on the map Angel Gate to open once VP's tick down to a certain number? Once that happens, swarms of AI nids attack both teams and make the top VP much harder to cap. Expect to see this at the top of the next patch notes, thanks

The changes are a bit confusing. I don't remember anyone complaining about sternguard being OP before the change. Reminds me of those wtf moments back when Relic released new DOW2 and Company of Heroes patches (ie. tac nerf to 990hp)

I brought this up before the newest patch was released somewhere in the balance thread. Anyway, the justification was that sterns are a generalist unit so they have to do an average job vs every armor type because otherwise they would be too OP.

It seems like the period when they have 3 units and commander you have your commander and scouts and tacs is troubling you. In that time you should not try to push out much and def, and if the ork gets agressive you have to keep falling back and trying to wear down his meele squads with range dps. ...

I can't believe some of the stuff I'm reading here. The p-dev's damage is considered "balanced" because it misses its target sometimes? In what world does that make any sense? Especially considering this is a competitive RTS game
