Beamy Deffgun / Brightlance snaring?

Why don't they? Why do Lascannons and the Vindicare snare instead?

They do more dps, and brightlance can use scorch ability

Firstly, is the burst nature of AV a greater benefit than something that deals constant damage?

What does scorch do, and how is the added utility/strength different from something like the Vindicare who also has strong anti infantry power?

Beamy does a really good amount of damage per hit. It also has the unique characteristic of being able to turn invisible. It gives massive ambush potential.

If you added snare to this and kept the invis then it would be too strong.

2x beamys will take almost hall health of a full hp chaos dread. That's why it doesn't snare. And yeah burst dps is much more useful than constant.
