Why is the reason of this upgrade? I can see the reasons to give to Strike Squad their Nemesis Focus upgrade (turn them into a full melee squad with energy burn on hit) but i can't see the reasons for the Interceptor's one.
This upgrade makes the squad even more beefy and makes them make even more damage. But they don't need to be so tanky, because their role is force combat with ranged squads (and obtain retreat kills thanks to their teleport), not to sustain prolonged fights against other dedicated melee squads (which is the Purifiers/Strike Squad role). I could understand that if they have no ways to jump quickly again (like Raptors) they could need have more HP, but they can easily spam their jumps with the adequate support.
With the last changes, IMHO this upgrade have no sense.

They are like stormboyz. Effective against all infantry.
Re: Interceptors Nemesis Focus upgrade
Because of the macro of GK I would assume. Firstly GK have little support outside the bro-cap himself and the libby. No offensive abilities such as merciless strike/explosive shot/grenades/assault cannon barrage etc, so the result is that GKI have little follow up aid. then add to that the fact that GK ranged dps is abysmal in t2 (which is when GKI get this upgrade) and the fact that they can only out-bleed their foe if they fully commit to an engagement (which GKI nearly always initiate), it means GKI need some safety net against bleed, obviously that bleed is going to come from other melee units.
I think that's the logic behind it. If it is though then wouldn't it be better for it to grant increased damage resistance in place of the increased damage as this would serve the same role while making them a little less effective at squad wipes come t2.

Lets make Ordo Malleus great again!
Re: Interceptors Nemesis Focus upgrade
Aegis Focus, timed ability, 20% (melee) damage resistance for some energy? Just throwing balls out there.
Re: Interceptors Nemesis Focus upgrade
Potentially, although I'm keen to hear what Caeltos himself has to say about this.

but the focus is not all that major, it cost as much as most mid range upgrades , yet doesn't do anything to significantly change or enhance the units role. there are plenty of other upgrades for other races that cost the same and leave way more of an impact.
mostly its just an arbitrary way to make the unit cost more in t2. but it alone doesn't make interceptors uber awesome .
so in a sense , i agree the upgrade seems more like a place holder for something down the line rather than a meaningful upgrade.
personally id just buff their damage by 10% and remove the upgrade all together.
