I would like to enter this. if i'm eligible I have around 40 hours of DoW 2 multiplayer experience. Hoping this might be a good way to make some friends around my experience level in elite mod to play with.

If anyone taking part is looking for someone to play some practice matches with feel free to add me on steam.

Would love to join but for poor internet connectivity. Best of luck to all involved, and hopefully I will be able to throw my name in at some point in the future.

Might I also take the chance to commend TGZero on his initiative, this seems like a fantastic idea. I mean, judging by the fact that many people who registered for this tourney have one or two posts to their account, it looks like this is actively making the community grow. Many props, mate!

Oh look, I've gotten it back. I want to make sure I'm not over the skill level that might be set for the tourney before I enter.

If not, my three commanders are (In theory, haven't played in three months) Kommando Nob, Inquisitor, Undecided (Maybe Force Commander.)

EDIT: I also wanna make sure about which build this is. Are we using the Beta build, or the last big release build? (We using 2.2 or 2.1?)

I think I qualify as a beginner? Downloading elite as I type, and have maybe 15 matches to my name in retribution retail. Have watched a load of indrid's stuff (actually convinced me to get the game)
If so I am in.

At high level most games I play are dictated in t1 or early t2, ergo, that's not a big deal and I would think looking at the other participants you are rather better than them.

Torpid is right tho. Some of the participants dont even break the 100 hours played mark. Seems kinda unfair

The Beginner / Intermediate / Advanced / Pro bracket should be clarified to make events more fair

I'd like to take part, if that's alright. For my commanders I choose Lord Commissar, Lord General and Plague Champion.

I understand everyone's concern about the skill level of some of the players. One of the reasons I'm holding this tourney is so we can gauge ourselves and see where we stand. If a player feels as though he is too good of a player, then it is my hope he or she won't partake in the next tourney and instead work on their skills to hop in on the monthly rumbles.

Is this logic flawed? Absolutely! I didn't say this tourney was going to be perfect. Horus probably had something else in mind for the beginner's tournament. Sadly, the man is too busy with family obligations for me to contact him and ask for advice. The only thing I can really count on is players being honest with themselves and for us to have fun. That's all.

I'd suggest adding that somewhere in the first post so that way when running the tournament you don't have people trying to play that have 2.1 installed, and it'll take them a few hours to install 2.2 . Not everyone has like 10-50 MB/s of data, not saying you said that, but it's a consideration.

As of 6 o'clock this morning PST, registration is locked. Hope all the players are satisfied with their faction and commander choices. For those on the standby list, please show up anyways. Life is often unpredictable, and sometimes registered players will have To drop out for priorities. If that is the case, players on the standby list will take the place of a registered player in the order that they came in. For the time being, all registered players are to show up In the elite mod chat room 15 minutes prior to the tournament for roll call. Everything will be finalized and posted as they come.

Thank you.

Ok noobcakes, listen up! I had just received word from On High that a beta update will happen either later today or early tomorrow. Be sure to grab that patch before the tourney. That is all.
