Would you consider making the Slaanesh champion female?

My girlfriend does some voice acting so very possible she could do voices for you.

I can make the after effects of the voice if she does. I know a particular setting which I could put on the voice but I need something to work with to be sure. Warp Echo should not be hard to make.

Of course need some practice but after few hours of tinkering I should come up with something solid. But the voice implementation into the mod can prove tricky the least, however.

Firstly this all sounds amazing. Would I be asking for too much though if I were to point out how inconsistent it would be to have bloodletters running around with all these slaaneshi lunatics. Maybe when playing the Slaaneshi Champion bloodletters should get a reskin into daemonettes. Now that would be perrrfect, but then for consistencies sake I guess the bloodcrusher would have to become a seeker which of course we lack the models for which is damn shame really. Ah well I like where this is going already though guys and it seems relatively balanced. Good effort.

Thoughts on mechanics. I'm not experienced enough with the statistics but are these possible:

Psychon: On melee strike causes a DoT debuff on both the target and Slaanesh Champion (-1% total health/energy, +2 melee skill, knockback immunity, 5 seconds) but the Slaanesh Champion gains 2% damage reduction per stack (max 5 on each unit) up to 10% reduction. Does not affect vehicles or daemons.

Sort of a psychotic duel where the Slaanesh champion is cheating. If there was some way to make small AoE knockbacks (like the Mekboy shield small) happen while the two units were striking each other that'd help defend the Slaanesh Champion from gangs. The melee skill increase is to give the winner a temporary rampage before the (de)buffs wear off since the fighting units will be immune to knockback any special attacks shouldn't stop them.

Shrine of Slaanesh: Could you have it passively increase friendly speed (+1?) in a radius (similar to Tzeentch or a little larger) and occasionally debuffs an enemy unit's movement speed 25% (16 seconds) or with worship it pulls a squad toward you like the Singularity (10 seconds).

Suggestion for global: Is there a way to change how the damage is distributed within a unit temporarily? So that all the models share damage evenly for say. . . 10 seconds?

I love the ideas and I think just talking about it is bringing a lot interesting thoughts about new mechanics Indrid!

My first instict would be BURN THE HERETIC, but being Slaanesh... it would be weird, but not improbable. You would be better making the champion human in that case which would be something arrogant chaos marines would hate. You could do a Sister of Battle, but there's only one canon example of that and who knows if it's been retconned by now. It's also likely to lead to the assassination of elite mod members from fanatical SoB lovers.

It would be a pretty boss way to get across that chaos isn't entirely lead by mighty spess mahreens though.

It's only about as fluff breaking as a sorceror building a GUO. A daemonette reskin would be pretty nice, but then you would probably need voices too :P.

A whip possessed by a daemonette that grants the Song of Allure ability

Song of Allure:
The champion projects a siren like song to the target non-hero unit drawing it towards the champion (basically its a pull, you pick a single model from a target squad and it has to walk hypnotised towards your hero)

And this for a global

Songbearers
100 red
Slaneesh channels a powerful song through the bodies of the selected allied squad which enters a frenzy(player loses control of the squad, can attack friends and foes alike), gains 25% damage resistance and 40% melee damage increase. Target squad only attacks in melee for the duration. Infantry units (also affects friends and foes) in close proximity to the songbearers become disoriented (cannot shoot, throw grenades, like the noise marines effect). Lasts 15 seconds.

I think these are pretty fair abilities though the numbers are a bit roughly measured so feel free to give your opinion

In the event that this fourth commander is actually implemented, and we need a VO, I can be of use. I do have voice acting experience with 40K, as well as with sound editing.

Depending on whether or not the champion will be male or female of course - as a male with a bass voice it'll take a golf club and not a small amount of pain for me to hit the high notes. (But I suppose that would be an appropriate encapsulation of the Slaanesh theme?)

How about a pulse every 3 seconds with Heretic Worship? and a 15% or 20% damage reduction with 'The Flawless Host' or maybe have an AoE 10% speed buff and a 5%/10% damage reduction for 20 seconds in a small area?

I would love a slaanesh champion its almost sickening how much slaanesh gets shafted in games and in books. Since slaanesh is my favourite god I always get sad when she is forgetten and the other 3 are the main show.

Heck I think they were planning to put slaanesh in the game during chaos rising I mean look at this video.

About 1:59 you start hearing slaanesh heretic lines I even think they may have been planning to give heretics marks too. I wonder what happend?

Thinking of the weapons, while this may be very different from what was originally proposed, I think this might work with the ideas you were going for (energy intensive, glass cannon, tradeoffs).

-Note I will not attempt to make many values for damage etc.
-Also these are names used for Slaanesh weapons. Definitely change the names if one is afraid of GW's copyrights. These are not names I came up with.

T1 sword (blissgiver): slows enemy units on one model hit by a small amount. power melee.

T2 maul/staff: (needle of desire): deals splash damage and can drain 2% energy per second to heal nearby friendly units. power melee.

T2 whip: (lash of torment): heavy melee. Has short range flesh hooks ability that deals no damage to the target. 30 Second cooldown costing 60 energy. Less damage that power/plague fist.


With the masochistic ability (the one where you lose health and energy to increase damage) could work with these weapons. You champion will be drained of its resources easily in fights, but if you pick the right time to use the abilities you can pull off nice tactics.

Also just for the sake of the game, an accessory that should be easy to code.

T1 Doom Siren: short range cast ability. Equivalent to sorcerer's warpfire but dealing no damage. 80 Energy.

^sorcerer+chaos lord+plague champ all have items that help deal with set up teams/lots of shooting early (sorcerer portal, chaos lord dark halo, plague champion heal). While having a crippling energy cost, it could be worth it if someone has a large amount of suppression.

^it could also make people feel less inclined to get grenades/raptors to counter suppression.

Nice list, but he should have a AV weapon, maybe in form of a wargear option called "Deamon prince form". Would be a lot of work tho.

A Slaanesh commander and choas Rhino is something I always wanted to be added to choas army in DoW.

Slight Necro. But on the topic of commanders. Pretty much all the factions could use a 4th, and they don;t have to be total overhauls. Granted Wargear is some work, it's manageable as a stretch goal.

Would love to see an Psyker or priest for IG. Or even a Blood Pact Commander as a 4th Hero(change it up a bit)

This should have been in the original Chaor rising. Seeing as they had files and soundfiles for slaanesh for a 4th commander. Im guessing Weirdboy, Librarian were also desgined to be 4th heroes rather than sub-commanders but who knows. But i like Indrids idea altoght its hillarious that slaanesh worship gives +% dmg and khornes gives speed. But canon isnt really a huge factor when it comes to computer games and balance.
In regards to the female idea, i wonder if you can mod an eldar female model to shape her as a corrupted Sister of Battle by Slaanesh. If not that model would also be boss.
Hope this gets in the game so i can finnaly start playing as a champion of a hendoistic/rapedriven/cokesnorting/perverted/shemale/androgenous entity.

In an old interview with TASK3R and one more from Relic, they experimented with different units for Chaos Rising. Two of those that were mentioned, were the Dark Reapers for Eldar, and Chaplain for the Space Marines. But they went with Librarian and Wraithguards instead for that installment.

So, how feasible would a Slaneeshi champion be actually? Obviously, there's bigger things on the table atm but is this something that has any interest vested into it?

I would like to see a Doom Siren as one of the weapon or accessory (since he already has one in the model i see).
The Axe doesn't feel Slaaneshi. A single Lighting Claw would be better.

Well the model (and Emperors Children elite scheme) is ready and the voice lines can now be implemented relatively easily.
Plus there's even a Daemonette model that could be used as a call-in ability.

I'm guessing the idea has been given some thought already but none of the ideas for 4th commanders can go ahead until the new UI is integrated into the mod. Might be a bit of a nightmare to balance as well.

I'd really like to see the Slaaneshi hero though - shumas model is almost too good not to use.

Just a few opinion;

Worship
Every other worship gives you clear bonuses. Eg: pure speed buff or infiltration. This worship you said is just a plate or ketchap and mayo without potatoes themself. It should be clear. One way bonus. If there wasn't any other clear way to buff, maybe 100% suppression resistance? Or anything done under worship causes demoralize effect? Damm that was a good idea! I am underlining it so everyone else can give attention to it.

Shrine
It is not helpful for anything. I have an idea ; it increases the firing range? Yes, might be cool with Nurgle shrine. Everyone camps near of these two shrines, Nurgle keeps stuff on the field, Slaanesh helps to protect the area. But this can be with a side effect. Like Khorne shrine. It summons Bloodletters and increases damage. And I hear that there are Deamonatte models around on your posts so maybe it summons Deamonnates insted of Bloodletters? This idea is good eather. I AM AMAZING TODAY!!!

WEAPONS
Sword of Excess is a cool idea, liked it. But that Axe of Madness... Immm, Slaanesh shouldn't use Khorne style weapons. They should be power weapons. Slaaneshi Kakophony friend explained the fact to me before. You can ask him, he is nerd o.O So, a pure Power Axe should be happen. However, plasma gun slow effect might cause mad retreat chases which may requare nerfs thanks to haters. EDIT : He is ChrisNihilus

Also, why only 2 weapons? Why not 3? He is not Sorcerer you know. We can equip him with another weapon IMO. Let him colourfull! Slaanesh lover colours.

ARMOR
Now I'm gonna explain my opinion out of topic.

IMO, every melee hero has a warrion armor. It gives you highest health and health regeneration. Every melee commander must have one of these. Eg; FC has aritificer, Warboss has spiky armor, Commisar has carapice, tec...

Violator Armor, yeah... Effect is cool. Synergyze with Heretics or Bloodletters. But I want more health, regenaration and less energy bonus. Flawsless Host requares experiance. It can be changed like everything around, right?

No idea about orb. But there aren't any icon that effects your own units. So I have an idea again. It causes suppresson on the squad if a model killed by Champion.

Why the heck tere are only 2 wargear per every slot?

Because Indrid was only brainstorming and clearly he was stuck at two each.

It sounds like this got a lot of thought way back, but they still seem a tad OP from what Indrid has suggested, but that's ok everything needs tweaking.

Would love to see a new herofor Chaos, just wodneirng if they're top of priorities right now considering the current roster.
