Everytime I see them I think, who ever came up with this must have been a fan of SCII's Marauders / Firebats

I like firebats

in STARCRAFT.

Centurions are mutilating the existing background to shoehorn something in that just doesnt make sense in this universe.

What do you call an M-1 Abrahams if not a big hunk of armor + a big ass arty piece for a smaller guy in littler armor? Making armor for the armor is really not so far-fetched as you make it sound, the concept has kinda been illustrated by the progression of our own real world military machines. Making them tougher, more powerful, or more mobile.

Very bad comparison.

We're talking about a guy in power armour, the third most powerful infantry armour available in the Imperium sitting inside another suit of armour over the top of his other one that is supposedly even stronger than Terminator armour, so just to recap.

Wearing power armour and then some ungodly huge larger power armour over the top of it. It's pretty obvious why this is terrible in every possible way.

Well to be honest, the armor is not just for simply protection. Besides that, just because they've got a very good armor from the get-go, doesn't make them invulnerable, so it's pretty understandable they would furthermore look for improvements.

yeah, centurion warsuit exoskeleton is supposed to be a dreadnought that doesnt require a "dead" marine to pilot.

What about to give SM only one centurion who would act like GUO for example? ;)

I wouldn't mind a t2-t3 upgrade that turns a devastator squad into a 3 man short ranged anti-tank / artillery squad like wraithguard

I wouldn't mind a squad of imperial sanctioned psykers so IG get some wraithguard pl0x.

Thxverymuch.

But why do you want it, is there a compositional hole already in place, will it serve a purpose, will it hinder or help balance, why?

And I want Obliterators! And Possesed Marines! And Chosen Marines! And Daemonnettes! HOT AND SPICY Daemonnettes! Hot and Spicy Daemonnettes with TWO boobs! And no nasty surprises! I feel so alone in the Eye of Terror....

Or even better! A Chaos Rhino! God, I will give the half of souls* of this forum to Chaos Gods for a mobile reinforce point for Kay-Osshh.

Regardless the kick that this thing AKA Centurions gives to the SM fluff (even more than my 21th hidden Primarch idea from my personal fluff) I can't find an adequate role for this unit. Short Range artillery? Why? SM already have a no power cost Plasma Devastators and the Whirlwind for long range disruption.

As Nikhel mentioned, what would be the purpose of the unit considering the fact that Space Marines already have multiple artillery pieces at their disposal.

And on another note, do we have the models, would we have good looking textures, do we have animations, fx, ui portraits? No? Okay, no Centurions it is then.

Btw. I'd like a an upgrade for the Terminator FC - turning him into a Chapter Master (with armor much like the one worn by Marneus Calgar) a single entity super unit like the GUO or the Avatar oR give him a Terminator retinue...huruhrhur

I would characterize SM's artillery as highly unreliable and even dangerous for your forces.

i'd rather have a decent ranged force by actually separating the sterns from the tacts or a specialized melee unit for T2, there is no use for centurions.

It matters, because this is the Elite Mod and not the Codex Edition Mod. You want new units just for the sake of it, go play the Codex Edition Mod then.

I understand you guys' point about a tank not being the best analogy, but I still disagree, tacking on more armor and weapons to existing armor is not that foreign of a concept. note I'm not advocating for inclusion of centurions.
