How big is our community?
How big is our community?
I was wondering if there is any way to track the number of people who are around ELITE. Not just members of the forum and active players but also the youtube audience. A rough estimate of how many there are.

Hm, I dont believe thats all ELITE fans. Guess there are still enough people over at retail, ELITE just seems to be the stuff that gets casted most, and I asume the vanilla guys still watch that stuff.

I get 150,000 - 170,000 views a month. Pushing 200,000 if I can go mad and post tons of vids, like when I post an entire tournament or something.
Cretella must get 15,000 - 40,000 at least but there is obviously some crossover in viewership. Then there are the other YouTube channels and the streamers with their live stuff and their VoDs.
Most of them are obviously not Elite players and I get messages from some that don't play any games at all, but just like to watch them while they paint miniatures etc.
Community is quite big if you count the "fans", which I suppose you would in any kind of competitive type thing.

Re: How big is our community?
From my own observation, when I started off about a year ago (I think it was back in May of 2013?), there were a lot of new players who started alongside me. However, of these players, I probably only see 1 or 2 of them still sticking around (and if barely).
That being said, lately there seems to have been a lot more "noobs only" games popping up (or maybe it's just me seeing things?). So I'd say that, in those regards, we've also been seeing an increase perhaps in short term committed members (though whether or not they stay for the long term is another question).
