Problems with beta 10

I've also been playing retail this morning so I know that there's no problems with that. It's just really strange since when I install beta 11, it doesn't come back with any problems so I am stumped.

Hm, maybe try re-downloading and reinstalling ß 11, I think someone mentioned that Lulgrim uploaded like a messed up version of ß11 at first? ( not sure if true )

And maybe you were unlucky to grab the bugged one, before he re-uploaded the fixed version?

I'm really out of ideas otherwhise.

I'm redownloading Beta 10 and 11 again, but I've been using the supposed updated one and it's still causing problems.

Just to make sure, from a clean retribution install, I need to install beta 10 and then beta 11 to get the correct version? Feels like I'm going in circles here.

Yes, beta 10 first, then beta 11.

Beta 11 is just a smaler update for beta 10 and wont run on its own.

Lol, I'm not even going to begin to try and understand or even question it but when I redownloaded Beta 10 and installed it, which I guarantee you I had already done, a new icon appeared on my desktop which finally updated to V2.2. I then Installed the Beta 11 hotfix and it all now works.

I'm not going to question it as I say, I'm just glad it does. Thanks for your help anyway ^^

You were starting the module named "ELITE" which is the ages old "stable" 2.1 release and not "Elite_beta". They are separate and were made to coexist.

sorry for also using this thread for my problems. Im completely new to this mod, downloaded beta 10 and beta 11 hotfix. Clean downloaded retribution from Steam, installed beta 10 then beta 11 hotfix. Have in my retribution folder now a folder called DOW2-ELITE with the folders elite-beta, GameAssets and the elite_beta.module file in it.

On my desktop i also have the DOWII Elite Beta shortcut. But when i double click on it to start the game it wont even start. no error or something the game just dont start. when i start retribution in the steam window, the normal game starts and runs normaly. how do i get to run this awesome mod? im eager to join the fray

Have in my retribution folder now a folder called DOW2-ELITE with the folders elite-beta, GameAssets and the elite_beta.module file in it.

The elite-beta folder should lie directly in your Steam\steamapps\common\dawn of war ii - retribution folder. Easiest is to reinstall the mod and don't add anything to the path, the install path should be directly pointed to your retribution folder which is done automatically for you.

THe problem with the installer is that the path shown in the installer goes to the d-drive, but my dow retri game is on the c drive, so i have to change in the installer where the mod should go...

Hi
Make sure you also have the file Elite_beta.module in the retribution folder. Without that file the elite mod will fail to start without giving an error, as you experienced.
