Going to fight in any game, sport or real war relaying on your opponent mistakes to make you win a surely lost cause is a bad strategy to begin with, i'd rather not even try at all, aside from the fact that nids & orks can make 3xtimes the mistakes of eldar/ig/chaos/sm and still come out like nothing happened.
There's a difference between trying because you want a chance to win, acknowledging that your opponent is human, and in trying and banking on your opponent making mistakes. One is perseverance, the other is really not the same. Wishful thinking I guess?
Perseverance wins you games. The point is there are imbalances in every game. It's called being behind, or being at a tech disadvantage, etc. If you give up every time you're disadvantaged, you're never going to win any of those games. Whether that be from a imbalance standpoint, or just games where you're at a deficit.
