As forthe doom of Malan'ta, it reminds me of Alien xenomorph from the Alien movies series.

And true :/ Its Hans' work, but the others voiced the need to have a similar style all around the units. And Hans's old style really looked different ^^;
Altho, now he is back with the Fire Dragon and Dark Reapers in a new style, not sure what Lulgrim + Caeltos wanna do Keep those or should I make them too ? ^^;

Its quite relevant topic either way, since its for a book cover, thats a huge compiliation of techniques to make different cospay armor and weapons and whatnot A veteran blacksmith is making it, who retires from active "duty" ^^

Didn't they say that Hans' Fire Dragons were actually pretty good and they were keeping it? If anything Dire Avengers badly need a new portrait. And I would hope that IG would get priority over DLC content for a faction that already has pretty badass default portraits.

I'd want to do the IG first too ^^ The infantry got some reeeeally crappy portraits T_T Like Catas... ^^; and stormtroopers XD

I want to have all the new portraits in one style. Since Kilgarn has more works already in the game then I would prefer his portraits over Hans's. To be honest I like the style of Kilgarn more. He draws in kinda realistic style and Hans does in cartoonish kinda style. I am far from art so here are my rough definitions =)

I'd second the idea of focusing on IG first, especially the new units like spotters and kasrkins plus reworks of the existing ones up to the standard of the new grey knight portraits.

Of course, I guess its really up to Kilgarn what he does next.

I'm an IG fanboy so I can only express similar feelings.

But focus on whatever you feel needs to be addressed first (: I'm sure there are some ugly portraits for other factions that are in need of your beautifying touch.

I'm surprised no one caught this... If you look at both Assault Marine Squads and Vanguard vets, all of them are beaky marines. Your portrait has him wearing the tactical marine helmet similar to that of the Ancient...

@Sub_Zero --- Well recently, Hans came back with 2x eldar portraits (you can check it in the releases thead I got), which are more realistic
Still, I'd like to draw what I can and it will be up to Caeltos and Lulgrim to decide which they'd like to use ^^

@sterling --- actually a solid point... I sometimes feel that the IG got the short end of the stick in developing when they got such a sorry excuse of a portrait for most of their infantry ^^; Anyways, I'll focus on IG then

@Commissar Vocaloid --- awww ^^ thanks for the compliment Actually, so far I think IG is in the worst shape when it comes to portraits :/ All the other factions are solid so far and need only 1-2 default unit portraits to be done

@Helios --- Actually I've used a GW artwork as a base for the Vanguard Veteran's portrait. The beaked helmets are an older type (I think Mark II ?) and I just based it on that the GW miniatures of the Vanguards also use the standard SM helmets now Ofc, you could use the beaked ones, but this was a personal preference for me, as Indrid mentioned.
We discussed this at the beginning of this thread, when I've first posted the new Vanguard portrait Personally I don't really like the beaked helmets ^^;

But, if this is a problem, and a lot of you would say they'd like the beaked version more, I can fix the Vanguard pic for that one if needed. Otherwise I'd like to focus on the portraits that really need a new one ^^
