no. I mean that their products are very...mature to the point all you can say is wtf japan. It will all be done for you no worries ;) Its all in English. I know becuase i bought two other VN here and they where all already in English.

The only one that might be in japanese is Little Busters! When you buy the game. But there set up is almost the same as any other game.

I think the new story by Key you were referring to was Rewrite. Dunno they might have something else.

Not that much of a VN buff but I've hit some of the major ones. If more of them were as action packed as Muv Luv Alternative (though please shorter  ) then the market would be way more mainstream.

Ah I remember reading that one Vocaloid. I kind of wish the minigame in it wasn't so weird/tedious at times. Or at least a bit more engaging.

Still, I remember it most for the style it had and the fact that it was one of the only VNs where I knew about the themes it was going for before hand (Like knowing about the Big N from the lore that inspired the work".

That VN is part of a series iirc. I remember reading one before it that that was just as good. I don't remember too much about it except that you were in a steampunk-fantasy sort of city, that you were some kind of healing doctor and that there was this really creepy ass clown that liked to randomly black out the screen and say your name in a serial killer manner. That freaked me out the first few times it did that.

If you people can get me the name of it again, I'll proably remember it better :/

You might be talking about Sekien No Inganock for example, which came before it. They're part of the "What Beautiful..." series.

There's also Shiei no Sona-Nyl for example, which translates as "What a Beautiful Memories" (yes, engrish is stronk)

As for their relations outside of being a part of that particular series, I don't know about their inter-related connected-ness, so to speak. They may be done similarly to how the "When They Cry" series, which would be Higurashi and Umineko (When the Cicada's Cry and When the Seagulls Cry respectively).

Both of which I've yet to finish. The problem with Visual Novels is that I feel restricted when I read them because I'm a fast reader, and time is something I don't like wasting when it comes to reading a story. When I really get into it, I get impatient and want to sit through and read something all the way through, but with VNs you seriously have to commit a huge amount of time.

Ah cool ty yeah Sekien no Inganock was the one. Now I remember the weird catgirl :/ Cool cool, I might pick up another VN from this thread eventually.

And yeah, first thing I did after the first VN was to go to settings and pretty much max out text and scroll speed. I know the feels.

Even then not always a remedy - especially with the Voiced VNs like Shikkoku no Sharnoth. I really appreciate listening to the dialogue and the emotion the actors put in, but in turn, I'm forced to slow my pace and listen to the conversations all the way through. It's a really static process, so I'm often finding myself stopping a VN a portion of the way through, then restarting several weeks/months down the line because I want to refresh the memory. Thus, the vicious cycle repeats.

Hence, I'm used to sticking to more traditional media for now. I can read 9 or 10 novels of the Caiphas Cain WH40k novels in the same time it takes to finish a VN.

Soo many truths have been spoken. And I might just read a few of the one just posted. Any average on how long it is? Since the VNs i usually end up reading have like 12 different routes and take up to 6 hours per on average.

Not to mention Majikoi's Prologue was a ridiculous 7 or 8 hours. Thats right. After 7 hours of playing the VN, you finally get to see its opening lol.

Not sure, I've yet to finish a VN all the way through. I hope to finally start fixing that come the next few months. However, I do know that - and from what I've learned from others who've read it - reading all 5 episodes of Umineko for example, would take at least 60 hours, if not more.

Not sure if this is true but I heard some VN's like Fate/Stay Night can take quite a while to finish... and by a while I mean 70 hours plus... and trust me, sooner or later you'll get used to the random stuff that Japanese media throws at you. For starters look at their coffee commercial

Read the manga adaptation and found it pretty cool... played Melty Blood on the arcade before as well. But would've liked a Satsuki Yumizuka Route

For getting a harem with a Yandere, you have achieved God-like status in VN, on par with that of, 'The World God Only Knows'. But I've heard of a VN where there are 3 routes, all of whom are Yandere.. Have fun finding and playing it if you get the chance =p

Thank you.And I played VN that had 3 yandere's and tried for harem ending. It failed.
One day I will have the god-skills enough to have a harem of yandere's and not get killed or them kill each other.

Wheres my cookie???

And i dont have the strength to play yanderes and fail. I mean, i have one lined up for me to play but idk if i have to balls to know that and the end of a route one of the heroine is killing your heart (yes its in her fucking hand) while your eye is on the counter and blood is every where. I don't want to go for a women who i know will most likely kill me in the end.

If you're talking about the end of Muv Luv Alternative then I know the feels. I just head canon that part out really.

After this thread got my interest back into it I'm thinking about trying out a VN called "World End Economica/ ep 1" the premise sounds interesting and the lack of weird sex scenes sounds like a plus. Is it actually any good before I commit?

Finish a Yandere route and I'll give you a cookie
Finish a game with only Yandere routes available and you get chocolate chip cookies

Now I feel like playing a Yandere VN... Any suggestions?

Darn it for Yandere Future Diary immediately sprang to mind but that's an anime/manga/Tv series and not a VN.

More experienced users can probably help you out.

When you play VN's and go Yandere route you need to be careful it doesn't turn into heavy S/M.Last thing you want is some girl carving her name on you.
Also as funny as it may sound やんデレ (Yandere) (Nekomarudow is the publisher) is pretty good (Yandere is the name of the VN btw)
