Ork help

Postby Interdiction » Tue 11 Mar, 2014 6:16 pm

Guys, I really need help with orks. I generally play WB or sometimes KN. Any tips or bo's for orks would be greatly appreciated!:) For example, bleeding kills me as orks, how can I stop it? Also, how can I deal with shees or assault marines without losing my entire army?

I can't stress the importance for new players to watch casts of very experienced players.

You'll learn so much that takes a long time to learn on your own RE build orders, when to retreat, what units counter what, how to hunt tanks...

Maestro Cretella in particular goes into detail on each unit, how it fits into your army composition, what the tricks of the trade are, etc.. - you'll learn a lot very quickly from his casts.

Banshees are countered by ranged damage, or a painboy + sluggas in T1, or a warboss. Assault Marines are countered by hitting them harder than they hit you ;)

Bleed happens to every race and every player. Learning to control it best comes from your hours of gameplay/watching dem casts.

I play all equally really. Also, besides layered suppression, how do you do more dmg to assault marines since those guys are monsters in cc? I currently wait for them to jump then counter-jump stormboyz on them, which sometimes works if sluggas are nearby. :D I watch Indrid's casts, which are awesome and help wonders, but I'll give Maestro a look as well! :) Also, I have a question about the shoota nob. How much dmg does he add to the squad and when should I get him?

Well warboss hammer really helps against asm. Use waaaagh on engaments and use stuff like AWD (the big shoota ability) to snare the asm to be chopped up by sluggas + painboy + warboss. Asm are a low dps squad that relies on disruption and tankiness. Vanilla sluggas do twice the dps asm do.
No point jumping the asm with stormboyz if they don't have their nob. Also warboss globals will just own asm. UYC and 'ard boyz are extremely good.

Another thing I'd like to ask would be when to get lootas? They can be a moderate t1 investment so I'd like to know when to get them or rush for stormboyz/painboy. Oh and Maestro's awesome, thanks for the shout-out! ;)

Set up teams are a t1 melee counter. So when you are having trouble agaist melee, lootas can be a decent purchase. Work nicely against stuff like sentinels also.
