Deathwatch Colour Scheme
Deathwatch Colour Scheme
Does anyone know of a downloadable colour scheme for deathwatch that puts chapter badges on their right shoulder like theyre supposed to? I love the Ordo Xenos and was hoping some knew of an existing mod or if someone was interested in making one (im inept at modding so it cant be me).

I l̶o̶v̶e̶ hate self promotion but I'm working on a Death Watch pack right now, you can check my humble progress over at my thread. Very much WorkInProgress.
I couldnt find any existing Death Watch skin pack so far. Not saying it dousnt exist, but I searched for quite a bit and didnt find anything.

Thats a great start. If I can make a suggestion I would say you should use the badge of the deathwatch from the game to give the shoulders that embossed feel you get in fan art.

Yeah, thats still on the to do list.

Awesome, cant wait to see it!
Re: Deathwatch Colour Scheme
Just wondering, as far as I remember, the deathwatch consists of marines from different chapters. And they always leave one shoulder guard painted in the colors of their chapter. Will you just choose these for every individual marine model randomly?

No, thats not possible; all models within a unit ( beside squad leaders ofcourse ) make use of the same model.
The way its set up right now, you just pick a chapter.
I've been thinking about making different chapters for different units
( RavenGuard Assault Marines, Imperial Fists Tacticals, Blood Angels Apothecary etc etc ), but thats as far as I can go.

I think that's a great idea.^
There are enough units in the SM arsenal to get a pretty good number of chapters in there.

Thats a shame that the engine cant do the different chapters in a unit but I think your alternative is perfect. I was also thinking, and this is just an opinion, Deathwatch space marines often have a monocular type device on their eye much like the techmarine model. Do you think it would be cool/possible to use the techmarine head model for tacs and devastators?

It's like an All Stars Space Marine Chapter. Upvoted.

it could be done but it would be pretty complicated and might lead to issues with reinforcing. you'd have to make a squad consist of 4 different, uh, people, models(?). not really sure on the wording there.
it might be possible to call a random model for the squad on spawn though. don't know enough about the mechanics there.

Re: Deathwatch Colour Scheme
I would tie the parts with chapter insignia to wargear items then randomize the item when the model is spawned. However it's probably prone to glitching and generally not worth the trouble.
Orkfaeller's idea seems like the best solution to me tbh.
