As we all know, the Space Marine dreadnought in its default state has this small "heavy flamer" on its wrist. It doesn't do a whole lot of damage, but a flamethrower is a flamethrower.
However, when I check the Grey Knight Dreadnought and the Mark of Khorne Chaos Dreadnought weapon pages, I notice they do not have said wrist-mounted flamethrower. Is that an oversight, or do they indeed not have a flamethrower with their melee weapons?

The Khorne dreadnoughts has a underslung like the other chaos dreadnoughts.
I don't think they GK dread has any ranged weapons with its claw (not sure tho.)
might be an oversight or intended for balance reasons.

Re: Dreadnought Close Combat weapons
Chaos Dreads dont have underslung weapons like their loyalists counter parts in the background. They got built-in twinlinked bolters instead.

And yeah, it does good amounts of damage.

Re: Dreadnought Close Combat weapons
build-in, underslung. Not a huge differecen to me
Re: Dreadnought Close Combat weapons
Grey Knight Dreadnoughts with full melee weapons could have an in-built Incinerator, like the Striek Squad's, but that didn't supress. Or just a blue flamer (the model for flames already exist with the tau Last Stand commander), it just would be very apropiate and visually nice.
Re: Dreadnought Close Combat weapons
I don't think GK need any more flame type weapons. But I'm not against giving the melee Dread a firearm.
Re: Dreadnought Close Combat weapons
Khorne dread has underslung/w.e u call it storm bolter, which is a legit replacement option for heavy flamer in tabletop. It even does decent dps while the dread is rampaging, more than sm dread's flamer.
Not actually sure if chaos dread has it in it's other forms.

So the Mark of Khorne Chaos Dreadnought has a combi-bolter installed. Thanks; will go to appropriate thread to ask for info.
On the Grey Knight Dreadnought: the melee weapon upgrade says it gives a flamer, but as with the combi-bolter mentioned above, there's no information on it in the codex. So does the Grey Knight Dreadnought get a flamer with close combat weapons, or not?

It's sad to say, but ingame the MoK upgrade for Chaos Dread gives a second Storm Bolter, replacing the laser? object on the Autocannon's side.
But, oh wonderful! It doesn't work at all.

I remember a thread about it. Now I'm not sure if it actually dealt damage but had no visualization, much like Tics when firing on the move in melee, or it simply didn't work.

Well, you would think so, but they are actually equipped with Stormbolters, for what ever strange reason.
