Mark of Khorne, CSM
Re: Mark of Khorne, CSM
If you have two csm I've been trying one of each mark if the opponent had jump troops, they make a decent counter in that regard without having to buy a whole nother unit. Still think they could use an ability

Not the best example. The eldar player had a very sloppy game. (No offense) You could have bought 2 x Mark of Tzeentch and Chains of Torment on the Chaos Sorcerer and the result would have been the same.

the eldar player turtled, a lot if he bought TCSM he would basically punish him for not going for the offensive choice
Re: Mark of Khorne, CSM
I still think that KCSM should get splash damage. I mean, not FULL splash damage - maybe like each model dealing 10% or 15% of their total damage in an area around their main target. Either that or the Aspiring Champion gets full splash damage for his attacks to make him more unique/special/impacting/what have you.

Re: Mark of Khorne, CSM
the AC already comes with a melta pistol that's more than capable of hunting down transports.

Mark of Khorne, CSM
AC getting full splash would probably be extremely OP. He would do more splash than a walker (if EW buffs the splash damage too. If not. Then slightly less than a dread) and the damage type is power melee so with speed worship they would pretty much delete any ([S]H)infantry squad they touch aside from LC/GK Termies and Paladins.
Why do people just throw out random numbers without doing any research?

It's hardly without research. They're still vulnerable to stuns, knockback, suppression, and kiting. I'm of the opinion that they should be absolute monsters in melee combat but remain easy to counter (see: no jump, sprint, teleport, suppression resistance, ect), essentially making it the fault of the opposing player if they don't take advantage of those counters.
But that's just me, apparently.
Re: Mark of Khorne, CSM
That would be fine if they cost the same as ogryns, however you're forgetting probably the key point here - they have very small sunk costs since you will always have at least one CSM around from t1 AND all throughout their t1 contribution they've been a ranged unit and so the enemy will respond in kind and sunk costs is a pretty big deal in DOW. That's what makes vehicle choices so important and just your choices in general. It's why once you get one weapon upgrade you're locked out from the rest. It's why squads get exp and you're encouraged to not throw something away if you bought it but regret that purchase.
You just don't buy KCSM entirely from scratch ever, it's not worth it, in that scenario BLs are always better, or raptors if you need the HI.
