There is a new and updated list of beginners tournaments that can be found here. For this tournament we shall also have proper brackets, unlike last time where they had to be redone :/
This is a tournament of 16 players, single elimination. Players shall be selected on a first come first serve basis and shall be permitted only if I, or TGZero permit. Entering can only be done by posting on this thread with the following information:
-Your Steam name
-A link to your Steam profile
-Your three chosen commanders
The rules for this tournament are as follows:
[*]Each round is a best of 3, except the finals, which are a best of 5.
[*]There is one map selected as the first map for each round, e.g. Ashes of Typhon for round 1, so the first map played in that match must be Ashes of Typhon.
[*]Maps are chosen by the loser of the previous match after the first match has been played, e.g. Player X loses to Player Y, so Player X chooses Calderis Refinery as their map.
[*]During any match, players may veto the players map choice, but this may only be done once by each player during a match. The map chooser must then choose another map, which cannot be vetoed as the veto has been used by that particular player.
[*]Players must pick three commanders when entering the tournament and they may be from any faction they choose and are not limited to a certain faction. These commanders may be used in any combination during the tournament, you might choose to use all three, or decide that you want to go through the entire tournament with just one. It is up to you.
[*]The player at the top of the bracket announces their commander first before the first game. After that, the loser announces their commander first. You cannot change your commander after your opponent has declared theirs, the referees will notice and you shall be disqualified for such Gretchin-like behaviour.
[*]Please be polite and considerate to other players, do not rage quit, you chose to enter, the least you can do is concede and explain why you do not want to play if you do not feel like continuing. The referee will understand.
[*]Don't get drunk. Someone (naming no names) did that last time, and it was incredibly disruptive to the whole system.
There is a prize pool for this of four games, the winner of the tournament gets to choose two, then the second place gets to choose one, and the third place who won the third place playoff gets to take the last one. The prizes are supplied by me and TGZero however further donations can be made to players if the donater sees fit.
Referees are very important to making sure that players save their replays/know who they are facing, so if any referees could apply to make the job smoother for poor old Red Beard then please post below declaring that this is your intention. If casters could also do some streaming duties that would be nice too.
Players must save the replay and cannot continue to the next game in the match until each has saved it. Players must also be aware of who they are facing should they win their previous match so that there are few "Who am I against?" responses. There is a brackets system that lets you see this information, so if you win a match, please check it so you know who you are facing next.
Join the MRT Steam group (http://steamcommunity.com/groups/dow2emrt) and if you are still new to the community join this group: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/DoW2_Elite_Beginners so you can be notified of any announcements. 30 minutes before the tournament players and referees must join the MRT group chat. This chat is a very important way of reporting scores and asking questions, so only post in it if you have scores, questions or before the tournament begins when you can basically say anything you like.
Even I, the great Swift, shall be entering this tournament, as I am interested to try my hand.
