Steam has DoW2 elite icon instead of steam icon?

Hey, Using Windows 8.1 on an acer laptop, and after I installed dow elite 2.3, the icon for steam has been replaced with the dow 2 elite.

How do I fix this? It messes with my head.

I had something like this too, on a Novatech laptop. I have no idea what the hell caused it, but it has fixed itself now >_<

Happened to me before. I started up ELITE before starting up Steam and it caused my steam app to have the DoW2 Logo. Just restarting and starting up Steam first seemed to fix it.

Had it too for a while, then it just disappeared one day, and has never come back. Just wait I suppose.

Having the same issue with my Windows 7

Right click on the icon. Go to properties, shortcut tab, change pictogram. (and select the Steam pic again)
My windows is in Dutch though so my apologies if the terms aren't 100% accurate.

usually the reason behind this is because you have steam closed and you click to open DOW2 (or any other game while steam is closed) it changes your steam icon temporarily to whatever the game icon was. Pretty sure it happens with every other game but that's really not something i test out

Restarting my computer and opening steam first seemed to work. (I haven't tried just logging out and back in)

Kinda annoying that Windows assumes that the first icon of the first thing launched is the icon it should use. However, I don't have the desire to investigate further.
