The "Weekly Top Plays" project

Greetings fellow DoW nutters,

I have been busy thinking about how I could contribute to my favourite mod and RTS community. I'm sorry to say that I have absolutely no idea how to programme or create 3D models.

However I would consider myself smart enough to use Fraps, Sony Vegas and the Youtube upload button.
The idea is to do a simple list of great plays from people who send me their replays. It could be anything from a squad wipe/save to a nuke or even a nice use of hero abilities.

I don't have that much material to work with at the moment..... so please send me some replays to kukrisweekly@gmail.com

I'm nearly done with the first episode. It will "only" be a top 5 one though. I want to get it out as soon as possible!

Good to see another elite based channel going up.

Perhaps you could do some guides on the new units in the mod for beginner players - Chosen Plague Marines etc.

Or a trailer for the new stuff in 2.3? Plenty of eye candy in there I guess. Looking forward to see what you come up with.

If you had a little bit of commentary from you personally to add in some excitement to explain the moment in the vid when the play is being made,I think that would sollidify the vids..

Like For Example: at 3:17

"Here's GiDDoLo's Warlock trying to get back to base to heal up, but Noisy isn't having any of that. The Force Commander teleports in, punches him in the gut 2x, uppercuts him and hits him one more time in the face just to make sure he's not getting up....The name of this replay.... Where do you think your going Sunny"

If you want the camera movement to be a bit less jerky you could select a unit and click the portrait in the bottom right corner. Unit will be centered and you are free to spin the camera while the unit is being tracked. Really liked it though a bit of narration would be great, but I think a small text description in the initial seconds of the clip would be better than voice.

Guess everyone's a critic. x) As I said I really enjoyed it.

Personally I like the action to speak for itself, plus half the fun of watching these is the "OHNO HE DIDN'T" moment when you realize what's going on. Narration sometimes spoils the surprise.

Otherwise, nice production values and editing! I sent something your way just now.

Cheers for the feedback, especially the camera lock... totally forgot about it.

I actually did a version with narration but felt like it wasn't really working with the fast-paced clips. And saying too much makes it sound like one of those stupidly senseless let's plays you find all over youtube.

But I like the idea of some spoken words. Guess I just have to find the right balance.
