Leman Russ Tank missing props on level 58 unlock

Postby Shas'el Doran'ro » Mon 18 Mar, 2013 11:21 pm

Hey I wanted to inform the developers of Elite about the missing props for the Imperial Guard Army-level unlock for level 58 which adds stuff to the Leman Russ, in retail it was removed due some players not liking (or something) but it was just removed not replaced so currently there is nothing on it except for the Dozerblade, and worse it has the black missing content box inside it, fairly visible.
HOWEVER I met a modder some time ago now, that managed to fix this bug and I have the .sga file he gave me, all there is to it is for me to hand this .sga file over to you so you can incorporate it into the Elite mod.

.SGA file (LRUF.sga) https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B8T4HEzNFPz6cEZScGtQSTBfSUk/edit

Just so we are perfectly clear on this subject I took the liberty to take two screenshots, one without the .sga (which is how it currently looks) and one with to show how the fix looks.
Screenshots are on my Steam account: http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/576732137175984274/152713DCD414AB2ACDAF3FDF0F7628A398D7401A/

Again this .sga ONLY affects Players who have reached level 58 any tank unlocks below that is unchanged.

idk why people didn't like it. apart from the spot light being fucking huge it looks quite cool; especially the fuel tank on the back.

EDIT: what changes do i need to make to the module file to get this to show up?

The spotlight is amazing, I do not see a reason why remove it at all.

To use the .SGA file simply re-locate it to this directory: Steam/Steamapps/common/dawn of war ii - retribution/GameAssets/Mods. If a Mods folder does not exist at this location you can create it by making a new folder called 'Mods' and put the .SGA into this location, the Leman Russ props will be available for both your retail game and any mods you might be playing with, again the changes are only visible on players who has an Army level of at least 58 on their Imperial Guard.

Actually the large spotlight on the turret is true to the spotlight on the miniature Leman Russ tank from the Tabletop models.

I never noticed the black on the tanks :D
But it's kinda silly that the tank is being held together by warp powers...
I guess they will implement this.

i think it might be a shading bug. the part in front under the turret is illuminated in one of the picture. i do know that they're models are pretty ugly looking but the textures and camera tend to cover it up.

Nawh it's just that my settings aren't all on Ultra high, if you view this with max settings there shouldn't be anything wrong with the shader/shadows.
