Hi everyone, again me needing some help with my IG play =D.
This time it is vs Chaos.
2 scenarios wreck me.
1. Grenade launcher heretics: usually 1 but more often than not, 2. These things absolutely melt my GM, I move them around to avoid it and split them up but that eventual hit will reduce the squads health by atleast 1/4. I try bleeding them with the sentinel but I cannot repair it since the heretics will just bombard my GM. Getting a AC will make it impossible to melee them down.
2. Noise marines: these things just hard counter me, and are usually supported by some GL heretics and 2x CSM. I try to force melee on them with my hero, but he gets focused first in fights. The Noise marines then proceed to bleed down my GM force. If I do manage to come upon it through stealth or flanking they will just do the knock back and retreat.

Good to know.
I was just looking for a reason to use Noise Marines more.
I love Noise Marines.

Re: IG vs Chaos
I know a guy who liked to do double Noise Marine vs IG. I don't really like that since it's really susceptible to getting suppressed(not to mention really expensive and not scaling super well).
As for dealing with GL's, Sents and Spotters is my own answer. Going with a ranged heavy army like that makes them susceptible to getting locked down by smoke and knockback, allowing you do get some good shots in while they reposition.
The Sent/Sents can also put out dps while also being available for a stomp against a possible Raptor buy or against CL.

2x sents + rosarius/brazier on the IQ deals with 2x csm/2x gl tics rather well, especially with spotters thrown on top.
Against a random GL tic you can just use the mortar of the spotters, or the ol reliable of catachans while bleeding their models with the sentinel.
Otherwise vs noise marines you want a HWT, vs the PC/CL you can get spotters/hwt to counter their havocs/nm, but you can't do that vs CS else he will get vestments and seriously screw you over, so you need to get catachans to counter-initiation the CS instead of the spotters. That along with infiltrated Tdreads, the warp global, dark flames and sigil and maybe even the icon of tzeentch are hat makes the CS the hardest chaos hero to fight as IG imo. Not to mention warpfire vs stormtroopers (loooool).
Lets make Ordo Malleus great again!
