Beginner's Tourney #5 registration (2v2 edition)

Hello! It's time for another BT! This time, we'll be doing it tornado tag team style!

As always, we'll be following the MRT rules. Be sure to scroll down until you find the 2v2 section. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=135

This tourney is open to beginner's ONLY! Don't need no players from the advanced and expert circles crashing this party. Be honest. We'll be looking at hours played. Looking at between 500-600 or less hours played.

Since this is a 2v2, this is how it's gonna work. If you and another player wish to register together, then the person DOING the registering will need to put down his steam name, link his steam profile (be sure to set it to public, otherwise, you ain't playing), the three commanders of choice, the name of the player you'll be teaming up with, and your team name (optional).

The partner will need to confirm the partnership, along with his/her steam name, profile, and choice of commanders. If your partner doesn't confirm the partnership by either denying it, or by not responding, then the registering player will be thrown in as a singles player and will be partnered up at random.

Which leads me to the second point. "But Zero! I don't know anybody" or "I don't have time to be meeting new people because I have a busy life". Hey, that's cool! We get it. You'll just be partnered up randomly.

The first 32 people who registers (be they in a team or singles) will be in the tourney. Anyone beyond that will be put on the stand by list. I encourage people who are on that list to show up on tourney day anyways. Real life often times can get in the way, and registered players sometimes drop out at the last minute. If that's the case, people on the standby list will replace those players in descending order.

Which leads to another point, if a registered player is missing his partner come game time, he/she can either A) replace his partner with a player on standby, or B) drop out, thus allowing the first two players on the standby list to take their place in the tourney.

Prizes for this tourney are as follow: AwesomeNauts, Mark of the Ninja, Bully: Scholarship edition, and Portal 2. For this 2v2 tourney, we'll only have a winning team and a runner up. There will be no third placement battle, so if you lose in the semi-finals, yer done. You don't need to fight anymore. First place team will have first choice of two games, with the runner up getting the scraps.

The date for this tourney is set for October 25th at 10 AM PST, and possibly the 19th, if the tourney goes on a long time. All players will need to report to the Elite Beginners chat room (http://steamcommunity.com/groups/DoW2_Elite_Beginners) 20 minutes before game time, ready to go. If you are going to be late, you will need to leave either me or Swiftsabre a message saying so, otherwise, we'll consider you both retarded and tardy, and you will be dropped.

If I may suggest something: don't use team names. It only adds paperwork/confusion. Easier would be to just have the player names.

"Your next opponent is Team X!" "Great ..., who are we meant to fight now?"
That's how I experienced it anyway, granted it's not that bad and the team names could add a little flavour/fun.

I think what my partner is trying to say is, We encourage players to register as teams. That way, the team can get some practice in with each other and, thus, make the tournament more enjoyable, rather than register alone and get stuck with someone you don't know, and possibly one of you screwing it up.

As for registration, we decided that will end on the 12th of October, so we can have plenty of time to organize the tourney.
