gitfindas (increases range 45 -> 51 or 40 -> 46) synergizes too ridiculously well with
- tanky warboss giving flashgitz sight
- more dakka. the number of bullets on snazzguns is ridiculous -> insane range kb

Jump them or use disruption on them. Considering them being tier 3 specialized ranged units, I suspect you're supposed to do so anyway.

The range is considerable. However given how the DPS is rather consistent as opposed to bursty unlike Stormtroopers it's easier to react to.
They become something like pseudo artillery against Eldar.
However the first scenario is far more plausible than the second unless it's a Kommando call in. I think it's a decent upgrade to say the least (Ork bias T_T) but its removal gets rid of a large degree of flexibility with fighting certain units which Orks can struggle with given certain situations.

The problem in the second scenario is More Dakka, which is pretty fucking OP IMHO when used against single entity units because it's basically the Apo's full auto plus 25% extra damage.
I dunno about removing their range upgrade. They're already a pretty one dimensional squad and if you take away their super range then they're comparable to a fully upgraded and leveled shoota squad minus AWD and detection.

Thankfully, in T3, flashgitz are probably the last unit that a mek will be building or needing.
And yes, they are a nightmare when backed up by a warboss. I'm pretty sure that's intended. Its the same deal for any other hero who has a heavy_melee weapon and pairs it with ranged superiority.
