Finding Games question

Newb Question. I just played my first 5 matches yesterday in 1 v 1 and was wondering if I was looking for games in the wrong spot. I have only loaded the game and the Elite mod onto my computer. When I go to Multiplayer I am looking under Public Games and was only seeing 1-2 games total, most of which were full. I ended up hosting (1v1) games to get some matches in. Am I looking in the right place? Is there a different server/ place I need to be looking for games, or did I just log on at bad times?

Also, the Find Games button in muted/ cannot be selected from the menu screen. Is that normal?

everything sounds right. you don't see games that are private (obviously) or games that are currently being played. those 1~2 lobbies are the ones that players are waiting to get started.
i'm glad you're hosting your own 1v1s. people don't do that often.

That's normal, and it is likely due to the time if day.

The Find Game feature isn't available in mods unfortunately, so that's normal as well.

If you're looking to find more games, try joining the elite steam group and the elite beginners group and send friend requests, join the chat and stuff. That should make it easier. And once you find some people, you should be able to find games more consistently. I'm on my phone at the moment, so I can't link them right now, but hopefully someone else will be able to.

And like fish said, hosting your own is always good

Thanks. I am in the group now. That should help out a lot. After each game I see that my army is gaining experience. Does that have any in-game effect or is it basically there to show how much game time I have logged?

Army level does nothing but make your units sparkle.
