Just another day in Australia
( I miss Steve Irwin
)
And I've been to Australia before about a decade ago if not more when I was a kid. Nice place ^^ but quite cold for me since its quite hot and humid where I'm from. And a Koala took a dump on my dad's hand when he was holding it, trying to pose for a picture

Here's what I remember from my trip to Australia from a couple years ago:

These things love to hang about head level over popular trails. The biggest ones we saw were probably 4" from leg tip to leg tip.
Lovely scenery, but... fuck your wildlife

Going to the toilet in the dark? Putting your shoes on in the morning? Trying to leave the house? Don't, Spiders, feckin Spiders. In the toilet bowl. Disgusting.

Yeah. I would die. Those spiders. I don't want to think about it. My arachnophobia goes deep

Lets make Ordo Malleus great again!

Everyone thinks I am crazy for being scared of them. They are horrible creatures, look at them, luckily they can't get any larger due to their single circulatory system. Still, some of them are large enough.

Re: Thinking of visiting?

There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods."
Re: Thinking of visiting?
The last place I worked at I was chatting to one of the electricians and he was telling me when he was a child he and a friend used to go snake catching. But instead of something that was sort of not life threatening they went for Brown Snakes which is the most dangerous snake here.
To be fair it's very rare (heh) to see a lot of these animals, reptiles, arachnids, etc without going much further out of the cities.
The most dangerous spider I've come across is the redback spider which is very poisonous (fatal if not treated soon). Huntsman spiders are probably the most frightening given how fucking fast they run but hardly poisonous.
Also really rare for a Crocodile to be swimming in the ocean, salt levels are too high for what they're naturally used to.
hahahah!
Snakes in the toilet is news to me but I can see one getting inside a house looking for water perhaps and finding a nice little comfy spot underneath your anus and/or testicles

That's quite a beautiful spider you got there, wouldn't want it hanging out above me though.

(I don't known the correct terms here so the following paragraphs might sound very weird)
At a previous job I had I helped spraypaint a boat. My boss had a movable scaffolding/rack around it with a half a meter wide walkway so you could walk around and spraypaint it.
Before we got to do that however we had to remove the tarp that was covering the deck. Since it had been sitting there for a few years however, the tarp had been infested with literally hundreds of spiders. I'm not arachnophobic in the least, but walking around that boat removing tape and pulling up the tarp (which was just above your head when you were on the scaffolding) with little space to move around without risk of falling off was one of the most nerv wrecking things I've ever done, seeing as everytime you lift the tarp up spiders would fly in every direction, or glide down attached to their strands of web.
Probably the longest hour of my life.

"Then he sang softly nigh the pearly rim, But the sad dweller by the sea-ways lone
Changed all he sang to inarticulate moan, Among her wildering whirls, forgetting him"

Re: Thinking of visiting?
Jenni, that is actually disgusting. It made me look up. I would die just knowing they were under the tarpaulin.

But what about boxjellyfish?
Also on a side note, you've convinced me to never ever visit Australia.
