No, the nurgle shrine heals in bursts of hp and the amount it heals is based on the units maximum health. The nurgle shrine doesn't affect regeneration. Nurgle worship affects regeneration of health which is why it would be OP on heretics (because it would be 24hp/s heal on a 600hp squad). It's also why shrines are VERY effective with terminators and heretics. 10% of terminator's max health is an instant boost of ~300+ hp and with the heretics it does heal every single model.

There is a bug though with the nurgle shrine where if you start to worship with the heretics just as it does a burst of healing that it actually does amplify the heal by 3.5, so you can end up healing terminators by 1000+ hp in an instant, however it's really hard to pull off as you have to time the tic worship perfectly. I have no idea how this works since the shrine doesn't affect health regen. I guess you have to start worshiping the very moment that the unit gets the heal, but if that's the case worship should effect mucus discharge too, but then that would be impossible to do it with as you have to manually use mucus whereas the nurgle shrine heal is timed...

Jumping on the band wagon with regards to leveled tics scaling the worship rate. That's be interesting and changes how valuable tics are late game

so, then the question becomes, should this ONLY be for Nurgle? Should level 4 tics worshipping make a CL even faster? (if so by how much)

What about shrines?

Only nurgle, in my opinion. Speed buff scales fine already because the units are scaling as well, same with infiltration. Shrines are also fine imo.

Khorne worship doesn't need any buffs. Neither does Tworship. It is already so insanely powerful.

Absolutely. Nurship has no scaling, so it only get's worse as the game progresses and units gain more hp/do more dps. Compare this to khorne worship which has multiplicative scaling both in offense and defense. Tzeenth is similiar assuming no/partial detection, but as has been said it's extremely valuable just for the infiltration. The nurgle shrine is what makes up for this (and perhaps also ToN) but this is a shitty argument because shrines aren't always applicable wheras worship is in any MU.

Fair enough.

Question - are there any combos that would make particular units become immune to certain types of damage? As a %-heal I can imagine high-base health getting more health per second than the DPS of some of the intro units, for example. Will that really be acceptable?

(Thinking of late game, say, an entrenched PC on a VP, will it become too hard to dislodge? I assume I'll be OK because I'll have WG if not dcannons, but what about players with inferior non-Eldar technology?)

I'm not sure why I never thought of allowing nurgle worship's potency to scale with level. I always thought having it scale with tiers was a good idea, how did that not click!

Levels are the way to go.

@tsototar - The nurgle worship scaling would not be an increased %heal, just an increased health regen than what it gives now. 3.5/4.5/5.5/6.5hp per second seem really reasonable tbh, especially given how hard it is for tics to level and it makes the numbers quite memorable too. It is the shrine which has a %based heal.

Tics are a nightmare to try to level up, you basically need grenade launchers or combos with your hero (globals) to make it happen with any kind of regularity.

Then again, I'm biased because I always leave a 1-model Nurgle tic worshipping in base.

great, so behaviour with shrines is going to be unchanged, just the base worship heal will get a fixed-rate uptick?

Like I said at the beginning, sounds fine to me and I'm NEVER a Plague Champ :-P

(EDIT: I see my parody-post about the differences in talking about Eldar v non-Eldar buffs got deleted, such a loss to the discussion, it was HILARIOUS :-)

Oh there is. I just try to remove stuff that provokes people and is pretty much off-topic.
