Hot-Shot Volleygun

Hot-Shot volleygun is very similar to a SonicBlaster.

I think it will be cool to add it to StormTrooper or Granadiers, to add something new and unique, other than the same old weapons.

So it fires multiple burst of hot-shot las guns at once or does it fire sonic waves? Anywho, idk what it is that the Kasrkins are lacking that requires them to have this. Unless I'm missing something of course.

Use the template of the Sonic Blaster, but with Piercing Damage or something.

It fires multiple burst of hot-shot las guns, but if the Sonic Blaster was translate as a para-flamer, you can do the same with this.

I can't say if IG miss something, i don't play IG.
I can say that they appear to me to have very few and redundant options for their troops.

Yea, most of the time you just go Leman Russ or Baneblade when it comes to T3 as IG to the point that Kasrkins are a rare sight. It be cool though honestly speaking to see a Kasrkin holding a Volleygun deleting stuff in the Emperor's name.

Did this come with the new Astra Militarum (or w/e it called) codex btw?

Short range weaponary is usually not very good for late game IG afaik.

And I do see Kasrkin very often.

U mad bro? Kasrkin are fantastic infantry, they got a load of buffs coming for them too, they are in a nice spot, not overpowered since their power is going up to 60, and IG troops aren't lacking as such, they just have little variety, but then the same could be said for SM really.
The internal battery has run dry, the game can now be played. However, clock based events will no longer occur.

I don't play with that many either but based on my experiences they aren't very rare esp in team modes

A flamer like weapon instead of the grenade launchers would be awesome for kasrkins I think. Not only for ninja-bashing but making them more effective vs melee squads or jump squads.

The heavy fire damage would be pretty nice vs things like sluggas charging in, or banshees or the like. Or even to surprise stormboyz/asm after they jump on the GM. Maybe give it mild courage damage too. It would be pretty nice as counter-initiation.

Better than the cheese that will forever be T3 grenade launchers on a T3 specific unit >_>

Would also make them pretty useful as a late-game solo capping unit, especially on maps with buildings like green tooth gorge.

Could also make it better than the SM terminator heavy flamer by making a different damage type than fire so that fire resist units get truly melted by it. Of course, it has to be better base-dps than the terminator one since kasrkin are more fragile and they won't get the ridiculous ability that the sm terminators get.

Do they perhaps need to go on STs instead of Kasrkin? I don't know but Kasrkin are pretty solid and aren't the thing that needs buffing in IG atm. Not saying STs are...

I find that IG lack blob counters more than anything in tier 2. Having the STs with HSVGs doing similar AoE to sonic blasters would be useful.

EDIT: Just a thought, close range suppression would be nice too, in a similar way to purgs. I think STs with short range, high AoE damage and suppression would be very useful and appropriate.

Valid, but often more complex than that. I was too blunt in my wording and didn't mean to say IG have no blob counters full stop. However, they lack the flexibility to counter blobs without becoming extremely one-dimensional and exposing weaknesses. I don't always bring out HWT in tier 1, and spotters actually less atm. But the hwt heavy bolter becomes a liability when tier 2 units come out and mostly always needs to be upgraded. Sinking 90 power into a unit to counter blobs, when both of which can lead to your downfall, is just not good enough a solution. The two are great units in the right circumstance but very make-or-break: manti can be extremely effective but is less so against better players who can dodge it, and ogryns are just countered so easily and result in major bleed in this case. Other races can bring out things like the thunder hammer, or CL's LTGB, or the farseers abilities etc. All of these come as upgrades which it doesn't need to be said are cheaper than buying a whole new unit simply for blob countering. Spotters are probably the most reliable if looking for anti-blob but it would be nice to have a High dps anti blob too such as the aforementioned abilities, instead of simply disruption.

The ST can be bought with excess req and can ADAPTED should the need for anti blob dps arise. Otherwise you could use either of the other two upgrades. I think the role should be filled by an upgrade more than a whole new, 90 power unit.

Nothing wrong with rocking Catachan's then since their T1 and can handle both cases well enough. Just give the disruption or knock back and the amount of fire from 2 GM+Sent or 3 GM can easily force of a unit under concentrated fire.

Catachan's with Ogryns or Commander Support also wreck melee blob and have a chance against ranged enemies. Just ignore the melee commander or neutralize him via focused fire and disruption while your Ogryns and co. go against higher priority target like their blob or something.

Spotters plus Manticore also wreck ranged blob since spotter shells cause enemies to move and you can just place your Manticore Strikes in front and/or behind them. The radius of both the Manticore Explosion and ability range isn't that bad after all.

Volley gun would be a good set-up weapon, without suppression but with good firepower against infantry
