Low unit score with IG

So i was not really sure where to post this so I decided to post it here.

So, I've started playing elite like 5-6 days ago (and DoW2 10-11 maybe - christmas sales) and I've been playing with the glorious Imperial Guard.
What i noticed in the past few days that when im not THE noob in the team, but i contribute to the game (securing key locations, holding positions sieging etc) 90% of the time i get a very low unit score. When i check the scores it says that i killed like 50 units, and lost around 110 and so on. So statisticaly it means that i dragged down the team instead of helping them wich is quite frustrating in these situations when i dont think im bad at all .

So as IG should i be concerned about this unit score att he end of the game? It is not a gamebreaking thing or anything it just feels bad that after an awesome match I see that my US is like 20% of the bar .

That's just very natural for IG to have a relatively low unit score, since they generally lose more then they kill. Nothing to worry about.

I'm pretty sure the unit score is weighted for the different races - losing 10 units as SM lowers your "score" more than losing 10 units as IG, but nonetheless the end-screen-stats really aren't that big of a deal. If you already own a point (especially if an ally captured it) and you keep catapulting guardsmen at it so they (the enemy) don't get a chance to get it back you don't get any bonus point for keeping that point under your control but you lose points continuously for losing GM models. The point system also rewards reinforcing models as well as buying new squads with positive points (more for reinforcing) for some reason even though in an ideal world you would both not buy any new squads AND not lose any models and just level up the main squads you need and get loads of upgrades/tech. The points system isn't so accurate as to be a proper or reliable indicator of skill although it probably does in general have some weakish correlation with it, but I wouldn't dwell on it at all tbh especially as IG.

P.S just tested it and the units lost/units killed isn't even weighted for different races. No wonder SM perform so well in post-stat screens. This makes post-stats largely useless then ignore them entirely.

I have often won games vs eldar/sm with 0 unit score as ig, losing some 300 guardsmen while killing 20-30 models.

The post game screen is just a big pile of bullshit. It bears no meaning whatsoever.
For example: generators are also counted as units and even then the scores usually don't add up for some reason °_O
As Torpid pointed out, you get points for bad plays, a lot of reinforcing gives you points, 1 terminator = 1GM, etc.
Just some weird Relic nonsense.

Played 2vs2 as IG today with SM m8. I had 68kills and 80 lost, my m8 had 63 kills and 10 lost, but anyways my unit score was higher then his. I think unit score depends on witch units u kill and lost.

Sounds about right.

300 guardsmen still sounds low to me.
