Re: Total War: WH40k
Pretty sureit was mean't to be TW: Warhammer Fantasy. Yeah just looked at the title, I'd change the name to Fantasy, since it isn't Total War 40k
I heard about this a while back, yeah, might make me actually buy a total war game.

sigh why does GW keep pretending that people still care about Warhammer fantasy.

My Twitch where i occasionally stream myself pwning/getting pwned on elite mod, i seem to bounce between the two on a game to game basis. - http://www.Twitch.tv/Venkitsune

Lots of people love Lord of the Rings. Almost as many people have easily confused relatives who can give the wrong thing as a gift from time to time.

Actually I still really like fantasy, it just doesn't have the fleshed out background that 40k has, comparing the two it is obvious 40k is superior but Warhammer is easily a contender for one of the best sci-fi/fantasy universes out there.
I still own a vast quatity of fantasy but never fully grasped every rule, there were too many in the end and the magic system was redesigned from every iteration, that plus Orcs and Goblins in their latest iteration are utter shite.

Re: Total War: Warhammer
First thing first it's probably not going to be a total war (I hope it will be as close as possible).
Secondly, why the fuck does this have to come out when GW litterally decides to litteraly destroy the warhammer fantasy world ?! WTF I'm kinda worried now, I was hoping for a campaign map stretching from the old world to lustria and naggaroth... not for little bubble of warp bullshit or whatevah.

Re: Total War: Warhammer
Yeah I don't like that, they're pushing on with The End Times, which is all very well and good, but what after? You can't really top it, so Warhammer fantasy is just going to become a huge anti climax.

Re: Total War: Warhammer
Well RUMOR has it that after the end times GW is going to release a new version of WHFB with fewer armies (humans together, elves reunited, chaos-beastmen-deamons, undeads reunited, etc) and the world will have been shattered and those kingdoms go around in warp bubbles, and basically the factions fight when those warp bubbles crash together (easy justification for all confrontations).
Now if you ask me that sounds fucking dreadfully bad (if it's true at all ofc). I think the new version of fantasy is the pretty serious part of the rumor, the warp bubbles stuff I wouldn't be so sure.

It's going to kill the franchise.

Re: Total War: Warhammer
Miguel caron said in a EC twitch that GW told him to watch the fantasy warhammer story unfold for clues as to what will happen in 40k.

Re: Total War: Warhammer
I dont think CA would make this tbh as they have never made any indications of moving total war away from history, its prolly going to be a different game series made by CA, like alien isolation. However, warhammer total war already exists in the form of this http://www.moddb.com/mods/call-of-warhammer-total-war

That's why it's not called Total War: Warhammer 40,000... The actual name of the fantasy game is just Warhammer.Swiftsabre wrote:Pretty sureit was mean't to be TW: Warhammer Fantasy. Yeah just looked at the title, I'd change the name to Fantasy, since it isn't Total War 40k

For your information I have read the OP's link a while ago and all the info on the subject and let me tell you this, this dude is just getting ahead of himself by talking about Total war : warhammer (the journalist not batpimp). NOWHERE CA has mentioned a total war warhammer, they just announced that they bought the right for warhammer fantasy.

I was referring to the post's title when it was originally mistitled as Total War: WH40k
Would it hurt you to read my later responses?

Re: Total War: Warhammer
Except for the part where their creative director said they are taking TW into a fantasy setting with 'Total War: WARHAMMER'? That was the point of that news bit in the OP?Dalakh wrote:NOWHERE CA has mentioned a total war warhammer

Indeed I did not see that TWCenter post, it seemed that I was wrong. Now I can only be happy to have been
cheers ! Total War : Warhammer has been a wet dream of mine for a long time now.Re: Total War: Warhammer

Sincerely doubt that. GW wouldn't kill that which makes them money.
Unless it isn't making them money, and is thus dead already.
Besides, post-End Times you can still use the End Times ruleset. Which means the existing, up-to-date rulebooks should still be in effect. Assuming all the rumours from BOLS are correct, of course.
