How can I watch replays from different versions?

Hello! First time poster here. I love this game, although I can't play very well. I do enjoy watching the casts on youtube though. I want to watch some of the replays in the game though, but I'm unable to. I did a little research, and I found that you can only play replays of the same version that you have. So I just updated to the latest version of elite which is like 2.3 or something. How can I watch replays from older versions? Is there some sort of conversion program that will allow me to watch them? Or do I have to install a new version of the game? I'm sorry if this question has been asked a million times before.

If you mean the older version of the elite, Indrid casts and dear Maestro Caretta Caretta has very very big chanells and they are not kidding. I think Indrid does his casts from the beggining of this mod. Respect him you slave! Go search on Youtube these 2 dudes, not gonna give a link from here.

Nope, there is no such a program. The only way is too install the older version.

That stinks. So how do I install a different version? Does that mean I'd have to uninstall the whole game from Steam and then Reinstall it? Don't think I want to go through that much trouble... so I guess I'll settle for the casts on Youtube.

Not sure, but i guess u can just find older version of elite, download it and install - it will just replace your current version

Relic updated Retribution as well, so you won't be able to see any replays older than the current version.

when trying to view replays of older versions of retail, that is litterally impossible.

however if you want to view replays from certain versions of elite, thats possible. simply run the installer for the version you want and you will have that version installed, making the replays from that version visable and available to watch.
