Is it just me, or do Banshees just seem to roll my entire chaos army.
I know the standard is to have AC tics around yet banshees just seem to sneak by the tics and wipe out everything else that has power armour.
I know... I will get a BC...wait.. no that gets wrecked by t2 Banshees with spear.
So maybe Chosen Plague marines..nope.. too slow and still get wrecked by banshees when unsupported.
I know a great unclean one!....wait.. what's this? A warpspider grenade to disable my superunit?... oh and look, Banshees out of nowhere and they just WTF'ed my GUO in what seems to be like 5 seconds.
I could not belive it when that last one happened to me. How can 1 unit can decide a game.
Please help me with some good tips here. Thanks. Btw I play PC almost exclusively.

Re: Dreaded Banshees!
Don't know you BO but unless it's 3vs3 (and still), you better go double tics vs eldar, and if the shees can run past your tics that means you were just out of position (y u no doomblast ?!). If banshees can run into your army and wreck you that just means you don't have the counters/you're doing it wrong because it should never happen (unless say a warlock lands a perfect destructor and your tics are being shot at the front of your army).
And the counter to (heavy) melee inf in t2 is not a BC but a melee dread. Also touch of nurgle on tics is an insta win/wipe on banshees. (indeed chosen plagues will never catch banshees)
Also, PC has access to the bile spewer that can snare inf, bash gens and hit eldar inf pretty hard.

Re: Dreaded Banshees!
plenty of ways to beat shes as chaos. 1 way is using your hero right so if CL get dark halo and harness of rage will allow him to scare of shes, if Pc get sword or even bile spewer and use it to slow and weaken the shes allows your ac tics to win the engagement or even use a blight grenade:p and sorc can use flames on tics which will wreck them with bomblast etc.
as for units i personal love using touch of Nurgle on my tics in a engagement vs shes as its destroys them and on csm and pm and chosen pm. noise marines can knock them down with cacophony and allow your csm and ranged units to take models off the shes while the ability is in duration.
instead of BC get mark of khorne dread which will smash those shes to bits and blood-letters supported with worship and tics should be fine. The great unclean 1 shouldn't lose a fight vs shes every even stunned from haywire as it should ware off and allow him to use his awesome abilities like cloud of flies etc to wipe those pesky shes.
If this doesn't help ask

Re: Dreaded Banshees!
I guess the frustration in that is that I have to spend waaay more to deal with a tier 1 basic infantry that with one wrong move wipes anything in my army with ease.

If you're really a stickler for cost, you can get the Fetid Armor on your PC for 100/20 that can supress them hard and let you dakka them down for the same power cost as the banshee aspect (+25 req but meh). But I'd really spring that 5 power to get the bile spewer as it not only shuts banshees down, it kills them too and can bash gens hard.
The PC is just such a great counter initiation hero that banshees really shouldn't be a problem imo.

Re: Dreaded Banshees!
Ah Thanks! Also, Slaughter on my CSM with loaded chainswords seemed handle Banshees well. I tried it out the other day.
Re: Dreaded Banshees!
yes but that will probably/could be nerfed on top of the fact that it doesn't solve your solution in t1.

Re: Dreaded Banshees!
one of the shees greatest weakness is their health, they're very squishy and not cheap to reinforce. try to bleed models and force a retreat.
suppression handles shees well. so get some havocs. if they flank around respond with AC tics before they're in range of the havocs. while they're supressed by doomblast you can re-face your havocs towards the shees if you can. you may need raptors to deal with shuriken teams/raptors. but all the chaos commanders can deal with setup teams all by themselves with the proper investment.
unless you know you've outteched your oponent, BC is very rarely worth it, especially in teamgames.
great unclean one should beat shees in a 1v1 fight between them due to his abilities, he has cloud of flies for knockback and the vomit for large AOE damage at short range. it sounds like something else was shooting at the GUO. in any case the GUO, just like an other superunit or vehicle, NEEDS to be supported. worship and shrines exists for a reason.

My Twitch where i occasionally stream myself pwning/getting pwned on elite mod, i seem to bounce between the two on a game to game basis. - http://www.Twitch.tv/Venkitsune
Re: Dreaded Banshees!
Yeah the GUO wipe happened in a 3v3. Not sure if it was the warpspiders, or GK dark-excommun....That shut down my GUO from using abilities. Then the Banshees went to town and wiped the floor with the GUO in seconds.
Re: Dreaded Banshees!
I wouldn't necessarily advise you to get havocs vs elder...(rangers)
And I definitely agree with an earlier post, PC is the king of turtle (counter initiation). Basically every wargear you can buy has a counter to banshees built into it... LITERALLY!
Bile spewer and fetid armor were already talked about, but nobody even mentioned that plague grenades will do the job as well. You don't even need to land the grenade for the desired effect. The area denial alone will cause the banshees to take the long way around or suffer damage, and in the mean time, you should be shooting them up and bleeding at least 1 model before they even swing a sword.

Indeed, if you do go for havocs though I suggest picking up mucus discharge. Now that rangers inflict less model losses the heal is a good way to recover health lost on your havocs to rangers and it also comes in very useful during banshee vs AC tics fights where it gives the AC tics a large edge in T1 over the shees.
Lets make Ordo Malleus great again!
Re: Dreaded Banshees!
For Plague Champion: Pşagur Sword + Fetid armor is a cool counter for shees. For CL, well a combi flamer into their walking path? But they can run around it. K, forget it. For Sorcerer, well, burning tics can be an answer.
Just careful about granes of PC. You can miss or even the plagur can effect your own tics eather.
