The little details pack

Postby Jes » Wed 18 Feb, 2015 5:46 pm

So I figured I'd share some of my horrible photoshop hacks and crappy hexedit jobs for SM.

They are:
WOA Bolters and Bolt pistols with trim TEM on commons - commons, rares, epics and Sternguards included.
Plasmagun with trim TEM on common.
WOA additional armour models (these have been unused since forever due to erratic texture paths) textures improved some.
assault backpack OCL brightness fixed.
tactical backpack erroneous OCL detail fixed, DIF and TEM tweaks to make brightness, contrast more consistent with armour.
goldtrimmed FC Backpack erroneous OCL detail fixed.
Corvus helmet breathing slits for Assaults, Badabs, Vans, Ultramarine DLC, and slight DIF brightness decrease.
Imperial Fist ELITE Tactical Sergeant sash given seperate DIF, TEM fixed.
Blood Angels ELITE Chaplain (Apo) backpack DIF, SPC edited to match his armour.
Ultramarine DLC Tacs, Tac Sergeant, Devs DIF, OCL and SPC brightness and strength edited to match vanilla armours.
Ultramarine DLC FC backpack (also seen on Blood Angels ELITE FC) everything edited to match vanilla Backpack.

Feel free to use whereever.

URL used to be here, now it's gone

Could we have some screenshots of them at all? I don't want to download something only to inevitably take the files out again, I live in the age of internet laziness you see.
The internal battery has run dry, the game can now be played. However, clock based events will no longer occur.

Well, here's a comparison of the common plasma gun as it is now compared to some different re-textured ones. It uses the tint (3rd/bottom left or whatever it is in game) color slot. It's the only one I've had time to look at so far. Looking cool so far, Jes, thanks :)

Common - as is now

Imperial Fist DLC

Space Wolves - Elite

Legion of the Damned (Bloodravens, and Blood Angels look pretty much the same)

Dark Angels DLC (Elite Templars looks similar, but closer to white)

Behold, a crappy collage

The pack isn't exactly meant to be used 'out of the box' by whoever; it was more of a "thought you could use" for the elite team.
The vehicle armour, for example, would need to be added as wargear in the ingame upgrades for the rhino/razor/pred necessitating them being part of the mod proper.
Granted, someone at the team probably already have the models, but more than likely haven't sorted out the erratic texture paths. That, and the original textures were significantly less similar to the vehicles proper.

Wait, did I forget to put the WOA bolt pistol in there?

The WoA bolt pistol is there. I was just looking at the common one :P And we actually don't have the vehicle armor models, or at least I don't.

Everything I've seen looks really cool so far, thanks :D

Haha yeah I just noticed I left in the _tem (but not the _dif) for the teamcolored relic boltpistol I used to use.

Whoops.

Looks like nice stuff actually. Doesn't break multiplayer does it?

Edited textures (ultramarine dlc fixes)? No.
Edited models (woa bolters, teamcolored plasma)? Maybe.
Rhino armour? Doesn't even work without mod implementation.

Art files can't break multiplayer. Removing them will make things look weird for you, but changing them can't stop you from playing with other people.

Nice work man, really like those tweaks for the weapon colors.

I think I might have that rhino armor model knocking around somewhere so can send it over if you need it.

Cheers

It's taken me a while, but I finally see the difference in the armored and non-armored razorback :P

Excellent work bro. You've been doing nothing but being a huge help ever since you signed onto the forum. Praise be the Ominissiah! Apply the sacred oils in reverence!

Well, Elite's a pretty great mod. That, and it's rough edges triggers my OCD.

Also pretty sure the model/texture guys behind Elite are already tired of my perfectionist nagging. As if they're not already aware.
