Tyrant guards / biovores

Postby flixlix10 » Wed 29 Apr, 2015 10:05 pm

I have been told that Biovores were a specialized strain (or sub-species, the guy who told me used both terms) of tyrant guards that acted as artillery launching spore mines, or as flamers firing corrosive acid. Is that true or have I been
bullshit-talked?

No, you're pretty much right. Biovores are abit of a Tyrant Guard, but specialized in artillery. You could just google Biovore and get the information there, but whatevz

I'm not up to date on the fluff, but the similarity in shape between the current Tyrant Guard and Biovore models is coincidence. Originally, the Tyrant Guard were supposed to contain Space Marine genetic material, whereas the Biovores were created using Ork DNA. So from a biological perspective they would be more distinct than you would presume from their similar form.

EDIT: Also, holy shit 81 dollars for a Biovore model? Last time I played 40k you could get a whole Tyranid battleforce for that kind of money.

Oh btw Caeltos, I wanted to personally apologize for the lack of updates and news about the Dreadknight project.
I'm doing my best, but lets just say that...you know...fate can be a b*tch sometimes.

There's no need to apologize. We'll be patient with it, as we've been patient with other projects, and ongoing ones.

I think is works as a Tyranid plasma cannon or a mobile Tyranid base turrent. I we didn't have Zoans or the other Zoan, If would say let's put it in the game.

But it does the same job to a lesser extent.
The internal battery has run dry, the game can now be played. However, clock based events will no longer occur.

That still doesn't mean it's the same thing :)
Biovores shoot different types of spore mines.
The exocrine literally shoots plasma.

So lets program an upgrade for tyrant guards that changes them into biovores/pyrovores (I dunno which is which)

Would love to see a ranged nid guard but is this needed?

Caeltos had a Biovore specced out at one point I believe and someone seemed to be making a model. Dunno what happened to the model though.

Sounds like many things are being started but only a few are being finished.

Tis the nature of most mods I'm afraid, yet we get lucky when a Elite mod pops up and chugs along :).

Would be a nice ideia biovores, add some good suport as the whirlwind does ( more limited maybe).

Maybe the ravaner alpha nod could be upgrade on such way ( limited to 1 per time).

I enjoy the idea.
