Also I am not familiar with what sorts of damage, if any, are not considered either ranged or melee...
Grenade damage, for one.
And damn, I didn't realise true invulnerability existed in this game. What is the reason for this inconsistency? Angels of Death never saved you from Mark Target... but of course it's allowed to save you from a 500 red nuke? Weird. Game. Design.

I think the Cadian Kasrkin squad should have the little + icon shown above their indicator after they've purchased the 'Weapon Expertise' upgrade so you can better see that they're enhanced.

The weapon platform is immune to some other knockbacks too, such as the flesh hook from LA. Pretty weird.

I dunno if this has been mentioned, but issuing a movement order followed immediately by a repair order will often send squad leaders off to the original destination while the squad goes off to do the repairs. Try it with guardsmen + sent.
It's easy enough to correct (just tell them to move to the vehicle and then repair) but it can be annoying.

can someone explain to me why raveners get 2 abilitiy icons at certain points? (i think when they are knocked down? not sure... it usually happens when my raveners are in a pinch so i'm busy trying to get them out instead of trying to look at what the icons actually are...)
this having multiple abilities - and the fact that jump switches from "q" -> "w" on grid layout whenever this happens is rather inconvenient.
on a completely unrelated note, can someone also explain to me why brother captain's special attack does miles and miles of knockback? i guess this question belongs to balance board, but if someone has a quick and enlightening answer, i'd really appreciate it.

I think in general some of the special KB strength should be toned down a little. Some of them send models hilariously far, looks OTT. Is a balance issue though I guess.

With Devastators if they are engaged in melee (ie fighting back) sometimes when told to retreat they just carry on fighting with the retreat symbol above them. Sometimes they will eventually retreat out of it but usually it is too late. Have seen it twice in two days now.

i had a inq storm with plasma gun and serg, and activated the plasma overcharge ability. the squad got stuck in using that ability forever, constantly knocking things down, and never having any mana.
also, my inq storms didnt have any speech. is everyone else having this issue with gk?

- Inquisitorial Stormtroopers don't have any speech. They don't talk when you select him, move orders...
- (Not sure if intended) New Paladins passive inspiration buff stacks and affect Terminators squads.
For example, if you have 2 Paladins squads the passive inspiration buff of one squad affect the other Paladin squads and viceversa.
And if you have 2 Paladins squads, the effect of the passive inspiration buff stacks in other squads..

Forgot to mention it should have been an exclusive modifier that doesn't stack. That's my bad.

Using an inquisitorial stormtrooper's Proximity mine ability will cause all other inquisitorial stormtroopers squads to have cooldown before being able to use the proximity mine ability.
When buying Warrior synapse leader for hormagornauts and termanganauts (what ever they are called) there is a chance that a random member of the squad will be separated from the group i.e. when you move the squad to the right, a single unit will move in the direction but then move back to the left to avoid grouping up with squad. Leaving a gap between the individual and the rest of the group.
When activating the space marine librarian's quickening ability and then force barrier. If the user moves the librarian quickly before he casts it, the the librarian is able to move whilst the barrier is emitting from him.

The match was
- Control point
- 3v3
- Ulthane Temple
I played as sorceror.
I crashed before the game started (ie. during the loading screen)
No one else crashed.
As for the army painter
I started looking at all the the units with DLC skins ie. Ulthwe, ultramarines, freebooters etc, which was like 10 minutes.
I then started looking at the Alpha legion Elite Chaos units. After looking at most of them, I stopped on the chaos sorcerer and after like 1-2 minutes the game crashed.

Not sure if intentional but, the apothecary Full auto ability doesn't knock back enemy units who are engaging the apothecary in melee ie. point blank.
Chaos units (vehicles and infantry) who are cloaked by heretic worship appear to be red/white or a combination of both (rather than see through) when they move or stay still.
Also noticed some strange ai issues such as
- Slugga boy squad couldn't decide whether to attack my apothecary or capture the power node ie. they went back and forth (playing on normal difficulty).
- Commando nob couldn't decide whether to attack apothecary or capture requisition point i.e. kept moving back and forth (playing on normal difficulty).
- Heretic squad decided that shooting a dire avenger squad with pistols is more effective than than engaging them in melee (playing on expert difficulty).

The ability do knock back with a small AoE and it might be possible that this AoE cannot be too close to the Apo, hence the issue you're talking about.

i've seen my warboss get full-autoed by apo, and then all my shootas also got knocked back, so what asmon is saying seems reasonable.
that reminds me, am i the only one that thinks this ability should be target specific and not aoe?

Just to let you guys know, the game has crashed on me 3 times since 2.2. Has never happened before that. Its the same every time. In the middle of some hectic action, the sound bugs out, and then like 2-4 mins later the game crashes. No idea what the issue is. If anyone knows whats going on plz reply. Thanks. Otherwise I love the work you guys have done on this game. Big props on it!

I don't think that's a problem with Elite.
Had that in retail too.
Some other people have fixed this issue by verifying their DoW2:R on steam.
Could give that a try first.

A bug that I experienced recently with APO; sometimes you can't use his heal on himself using the unit portrait in the upper right. At first I thought this was b/c of stuns/kb/abilities, etc. but the other day I couldn't even heal my apo coming out of base in this manner. I had to click on the actual model. It's an issue in the middle of a battle when it's tough to select one unit out of a whole mob. Big deal for the apo player, since the apo is ALWAYS focused.

the issues with casting on icons has been around for a while. channeling runes can very seldom target the avatar's icon but can usually target his model. i've seen other people report it with other things in multiplayer but it seems to usually be tied to heals.
