Installation doesn´t work.Help appreciated!

Hey guys,

I just found out about this great elite mode last night and tried to install it.
Sadly it just wont work.It runs through the installation process without problems and everything seems to be okay
but once it is finished I cant find it anywhere.Its not in the steam library / dow2 folder and there is no shortcut on my desktop.
Its basically like it didnt get installed at all.

I tried downloading the elite mod from other locations and even re-installing steam and dow2 retribution but the problem persists.

Did anyone experience a similar problem ?!? And if so how can I get it fixed ?

Is there a folder in your Retribution folder named "DOW2-ELITE"? If there is, move everything from within that folder out into the Retribution folder. Make sure when you run the installer, there isn't anything after the 'dawn of war ii - retribution' folder in the installation path.

No there is no DOW2- Elite folder in the Retribution folder at all.It´s like it didnt get installed at all...

Update :

So I tried the installation on my laptop with windows 7 and guess what...it worked.Installed correctly and its running.

The issue really seems to be the operating system.Did anyone fix a similar problem using windows vista ??

Have you tried installing it to somewhere you can easily keep track of, like your desktop? A dirty fix might be to manually cut/paste the folders into your Retribution folders.

Thats what I did an hour ago actually.I just copied it from my laptop and moved the elite folder to the dow folder on my stationary pc.
So all the files are where they should be now.

The only problem I´m still stuck with now is that I dont get it to start.It says it´s launching but it doesnt.
I had the same issue on the laptop before I moved the elite folder straight into the retribution folder and eliminated the empty DOW-Elite folder.
That got it to work on the laptop but it didnt do it on my stationary PC so some files might still not be in the right location.I´m not sure...

Ideas on that appreciated

Did you move the .module file as well?

I cant see a .module file anywhere.I compared everything file by file from on both pc´s and its precisely the same.In which of the sub-folders of "elite" should the .module file be located ?

It should be in the dawn of war ii retribution folder, and it should be called ELITE.module

Oh, you'll also want to make sure the tooltip file is there as well. It's in the retribution\GameAssets\Locale\English folder.
