The things that you hate about this game

I've noticed, since installing Elite, that enemies shooting my units seems to reset their next action. My example is during a game at the last tournament against BbBoS, my Chaos Lord stopped moving towards a point to turn and try to chase down and hit one of the three squads of DA attacking him.

Also, everything Grey Knight.

OH! I also dislike how such a small user base can be divided so strongly, be it because of dislike of a person, tactics, stream comments, etc. I feel like we already have enough problems finding games, especially in North America during regular gaming hours, so alienating half the community only makes things worse. Word always gets out when a community is toxic, as we learned this month on Reddit.

1 - how much fragile and dull Termagant are ( seriously, guard infantry are more resisting each upgrade, can being outfitted for more purposes, escale better as much each survive , why Termagant are so limited? ) and how much weak warrior brood are considering other melee units.

2 - the extreme lack of Biomorph´s that make the possible most adaptable race of the game the most limited one.

I wish I could see Termagant with diferent upgrades ( Spike Rifle or Fleshborer ), warrior brood with several ones, from Extended Carapace to bone sword / Lash Whip , devoures or deathspitters, tyrant guard with bone sword /crush claws ( for anty vehicle options) or any possible ( model wise) biomorph that could bring to then.

3 - I know this is elite mod xD but the elitism in the player base is freaking annoying!

you cant enjoy a game with either troll or "pro" complaining with everything you does; and some times evertyhing you see as available match´s are:

"+60 lvl
500 hs
no noobs" and so on....

its very frustating, this player base is really toxic for any new player to adapt.

I do hope the new "find a game" thing help this a bit.

This is really something i have been thinking of, and it is something i hate.

I hate that the playerbase of this game is divided so much, between different mods.

I stopped playing when i couldnt get games on the matchfinder.

I totally think elitemod is better than retribution, but every new player is going to get retri, and there will never be consolidation.


And i hate whining about this game, and i totally think people whining online about this game, killed this game.

There is pretty few mods for DoW2, and all of them are pretty dead. The exception is Elite mod which become more popular then retail. So player base is divided between retail and Elite. Every new player getting retail and soon switch to the Elite or stop playing at all. Thats why retail is pretty dead, and 99% of its playerbase - noobs.

The Termagants do a lot all game, even if they don't have the damage scalability of other units the speed and on demand snare are incredibly useful. With toxin sacs they are potent early ranged squad for little int he way of investment. Warriors are mroe a counter initiation squad, good for ASM and Tacs would will take extra damage from the power melee, not a straight up melee squad like Banshees or Sluggas. Their synapse makes them more a heart of the swarm synergy units.

Can you/I/we balance them? Is there actually a niche for them to fit, because otherwise why can't devastators upgrade to multi-meltas, missile launchers and plasma cannons? It would be nice and lorey, but not necessary. Plus remember that DoW II was released in 2009, a year before the release of the fifth edition Tyranid codex so biomorphs such as Spike Rifle would not have existed during development. Plus making these assets is also time consuming.

Yeah, comes with all games. I don't play team games as such, but it is very frustrating to have one person not pulling their weight. You'll elarn which games to join and which not to soon enough.

He was opening the same lobbys even he was a lvl 22 Mek. Ahahahaha! I beated him and have no issue now. I suggest you the same too

He might be a butthurt about something but not sure aboutit and I give no garanti for it eather. A bit offensive to comminuty of our mod, you know, you can't blame someone who is a noob juset because a noob but you should be blaming someone who plays bad. Even I lost to lvl 4 armys with my +50 armys. You know, come on! This is offensive and annoying.

Anyway, I will fight with him with a real good mate and beat him withour mercy. And then send the match to be casted. So I can humiliate him infron of everyone of our cominity. Then he will see who is the real noob. Seriously, lvl 22 Mek and says '' No noobs ''.

Haha - Sgrunt is a funny fellow indeed. I'm auto-kicked from his lobbies now, though not entirely sure why.

We beat his team, he got upset, he called us noobs and that's as far as the conversation got..

Not a particularly productive member of the community! Also the worst aspect of the game in my opinion. I much prefer to arrange the teams for balance prior to starting a match (if I know the players) in order to have a close game rather than receiving or handing out a roflstomping (I'm admittedly predominantly on the receiving end!)

Infinitely grateful to the Mods and Devs that put countless hours into fine tuning this game however. And from my experience, a good majority of this community are stellar individuals, helpful and patient

Well frankly currently there are very few dicks in the community (=as in people active and known in the community through forums etc). It's the "random/casual" players, that don't know the community or too many other players in general, who feel entitled to act like dicks with people they don't know. Afaik it's the same or worse in every online game I ever played. Also in my experience (~last 4 years) the dow2 community has never been nicer and more friendly to new players.

There is the real problem ; vanillia DoW2 is dead. So, new players can not learn how to play this game since there aren't many players on multipler. Even one of new players sended me a message that '' How can I get in games? '' He even doesn't know that the find a game is broken. Yes he is a noob and he needs time to learn. But how? There aren't anyone playing this game anymore on vanillia. I tired to help him a lot to get him in this game. He is learning now but even he learns, his level is 1 in all 6 races so none of us will ever let his stan in our lobbys. Because we are too pro.

There is the problem guys. Our community can not get any bigger than this. That is it. We must keep playing with each other. We will see new players rarely from now on. Some of us will stop playing this game day by day and we will became even smaller. We will rot 'till eternaty. I will call back some of high level vanillia players to Elite mod but that is all I can do from now on.

But do not forget, we will join eachother again in another insane DoW game.

Turn off morphological filtering on your graphics card and don't change sound devices. Not sure if it's 100% effective because I've never had it myself. But my morphological filtering's apparently always been off, so I dunno.

The things that you hate about this game

Chaos Space Marines and Daemons together.

If only the game came out after the Codex, we will be playing with Warp Talons instead of Bloodletters and Maulerfiends instead of Bloodcrushers, i'm sure of it. This would left the daemons the role of summoned units, like it should be.

Luckly we're playing with the Chaos Dreadnought instead of the Helbrute, so there is some good to all of this.

There are quite a few things:

- Lagging issues. I know people having been pointing out. It's still prevalent.

- Sentinel taking friendly fire. I used to lose some of them back in the old days where the Hormagaunts chase them back to base...where the HMG turrets kill the Sentinels while trying to shoot the pursuing Tyranids. The Sentinels also make quote as though being attacked by enemy Imperial Guards, even though none of the opponent is playing them.

- If all players drop, the other team has to go through the tedious AI to win. That's one of the drawbacks of Custom Games. But the problem lies in the inability or delay of Concede, which makes a lot of players impatient.

- Imperial Guards HMG face the wrong way half the time. If other race's set-up teams are just like that, I have not had the fortune of seeing.

- Pathing problems with vehicles. I still want that Reserve button like in Company of Heroes 2.

- People equipped with Aupex (keen sense of smell for the Tyranids) are very difficult to flank from enclosed positions because they can see (or smell) through high, impassible barriers.

1.Startup lag in 3v3s and some people still not knowing about it. (No, he's not AFK, he just gets into the game 5 seconds late, argh!)

2.Retreat pathing (I know this is often my own fault, but screw it.)

3.DA grenade throw model dying during the throwing animation, interrupting it

4.Falcon spontaneously combusting every time I don't pay attention to it for a second

5.The Chaos lord.

6.People finding a webway gate after I went through all the trouble of carefully hiding it in the shrubberies.

7.Army lvl60 Farseer (Seriously, the aesthetic changes are pathetically minor compared to the warlock and warp spider)

8.The great Enemy (Because Eldar.)
