Issue with retreat affecting multiple units

Postby Hellstar » Wed 08 Jul, 2015 4:09 pm

I keep having this happen over and over again. It's happened several times a game, every game, since the new patch.

I'll be in a battle and need to retreat a unit. I hit the hotkey for the unit and mash retreat, but my whole army retreats. Anyone else having this happen?

There is a shortcut to retreat your whole army, I think it's CTR-X or ALT-X. It's possible you are hitting this?

You can also select all nearby units by hitting CTR-A (I do this a lot) and if you hit X right after you will retreat them all.

I don't think I'm hitting those shortcuts. I'm hitting the hotkey for a particular unit (1-9) and hitting retreat and then the whole army retreats. It never happened to me until recently, and now it happens all the time.

There's also a weird thing that happens sometimes (some kind of input lag or something?) where you'll have a unit selected, hit retreat, then select another unit, and the more recently selected unit will retreat.

I think I've had a variation of this happen. I'll have all units selected (or a group), hit the hotkey for a SINGLE unit and retreat, but the group retreats.

God almighty thanks for this post. I thought I was going insane.

I always attributed it to input lag before, but I tried playing some games vs AI and the problem persists. I thought input lag should only affect online games unless input lag is supposed to be understood as a hardware issue i.e. the game not catching input from the hardware fast enough. Can somebody enlighten me?
