Melee Skill + Scale for distances

Postby welshy » Thu 16 Jul, 2015 9:33 am

Hello,

The codex states that special attacks are determined by the comparison of melee skill values between attacker and defender.

When does a unit become the attacker and when does a unit become the defender? To me this bit seems obvious, attacker is the one charging, defender is the one that is not charging.
What happens if both units are charging into combat, who is the attacker then?

Can someone relieve my brain of this mix up?

Also, what scale do all the distances have in this game? Like the range of a gun is say 20, 20 what, 20 'on screen' centimeters from a view at ground level?

Thank you,

Sam

It's for each single attack.

When your model hit mine, you are the attacker and i'm the defender, and viceversa.

I think the range is called meters, technically, but really you just have to gauge the distance by sight.

First tip: Remember that most units have a 40 sight radius and most ranged weapons have 38 range. Then you'll roughly see everything else.
