I have an idea for Termie FC

Now, I will try to explain it shortly. The main problem about Termie armor is, FC works much better without it.

He runs to anywhere you want
Gives defence support,
Tanks damage,
Anti-melee Hammer,
Vehicle stun, teleport
And damage buffs.

Termie armor is a huge drawback because he basicially becames another Termie. I know modders already made pretty cool changes for him like damage buffs but in the other hand, TFC has no other things to use. So, I planned something in my head to change him into a whole new thing. These are just my dreams and ideas, I am writing these down here so someone can inspire or at least say '' GJ bro ''

Upgrading into Termie ( I hope my Termie saying is not annoying ) armor costs 100 / 20. He starts without Powerfist and a less damaging bolter. He is not going to loose him accesoriez like Iron Halo or Teleport. He will not loose his levels eather. He will not start with melee resistance eather. So, he still has levels so Iron Halo can be still useful with his increased energy. Also Sacred Standart is avaible for support again. Also, get Iron Halo and survive untill T3 with it so you get get Termie armor tactic is avaible here.

He starts with Commander armor type and 1000 hp for lvl1. He now has different Terminator armors for different roles. We can figure out some of them. I have some of the min my mind too. The new armors prize a bit low because he already paid for a new armor.
First armor increases his speed by 1 but no health buff. So when you use him for ranged, he will not stay too much back of your army. 100 / 30
Second armor increases his health by 200 and inspires around units with every kill he makes by 20%. Also gives melee resistance. 150 / 30
Third armor increases his health by 300 and 2 hp/s regenaration. Gives melee resistance and improves melee damage of nearby units when he kills something in melee. Does not effect him self so he will not one shot anyone with his claws. 150 / 50

As a result, with new armor types, he becomes much colourful and can fit into new roles. From now on, the new Terminator upgrades is more tasteful and saves our selfs from '' I buy it only for Flamer '' things. Seriously, we don't care :D I do not think any new kind of weapon change needed. I was only thinking about Cyclones Missiles for big 3v3 matchups so Termie upgrade becames situatinal which he reall doesn't have it.

What do you think about it?

I can see you misunderstood the concept of Terminator Armor. Its main issue isn't anything that you said. Its main issue is that it exists.

FC doesn't need it. This game doesn't need it. The concept of getting to T3 so my commander may become a one-man army is stupid. This is not Warcraft III or whatever is like it. Heroes' wargears must remain soft in the way they modify the game. You can already level your hero to 10, while units are limited to 4.

Now if you want things like what you describe you can try and make new mods, or use an existing one like Codex Edition.

Terminator armor is a cute concept. It makes him different from other heroes and when I first saw it I said '' Woha! Hold the phone there! '' His weapons are nearly same as normal Terminators so if he becames one man army, you should have more issues with Terminators themselfs. :) My only goal here is to save him from being one dementional. No armor I wrote down are buffing him actually.

I like this. I'd actualy say that the initial armor upgrade could be moved to T2 and be altered as needed. Tt would be important that is more a side-grade then an upgrade. Say, reduce his movespeed even further, basically make him more like a CL or BC. It can leave him a little stronger then them, since getting there means wasted weapon or armor upgrades from T1, and a 100/20 cost to swap forms. It might be interesting to change Battle Cry into something different, to make it more of an alternate playstyle.

The trick, which pega nailed, is that it would take a lotta work to get right. But, I like the idea.

From the campaign, there seems to be several 'taunt' skills. I wonder if this would make a Termi FC more relevant, especially if it forces enemies to melee him (if that is the case with the taunt) since the FC is usually kited around. The lowered health proposed (compared to currently) makes this less broken I think

I like the idea, though there's one thing I can't understand the logic behind. The fact that he doesn't get a powerfist. No powerfist means no melee at all. What is a fat terminator supposed to do when someone gets too close for stormbolter fire to be effective, when he can't even punch it? The powerfist should stay as is if anything; a copy from the terminator unit that does nothing but good heavy melee dmg slowly.

As for everything else though, it sounds alright as long as the numbers get tweaked according to balance issues.

To be completely honest, I think that the easiest way to fix the problem with Terminator armor for the FC is to get rid of the fact that it wipes the FC's levels. In other words, a level 7 FC becomes a level 7 Terminator FC after he upgrades to the armor, but loses all his regular FC gear.

I'm sure that some people would find this OP, but let's face facts: no one is using terminator armor in its current state.

Yeah, I was thinking for Cyclones to fill 4th slot on wargear screen. But yeah, we can add Power Fist as an additional wargear. I just wanted to decrease the prize of Terminator armor but a Power Fist makes it too expensive. We can show it on wargear so only the people who wants a heavy melee weapon can use it.

But then it's not really terminator armor. No matter where you look, terminators with a ranged weapon whether default or upgrade get a powerfist for those times when they get into melee. Sure, such a weapon might be a little... how do I want to say this... out of place maybe if terminator armor is moved to T2, but it's the only melee weapon that comes... standard with the armor if you just want to go as bare to the bones as possible. With no ability and the attack animation painfully slow, the 76 dph (38dps) heavy melee that normal ranged terminators have would not be OP as a starting melee weapon. Now if you want to make his 170dph (85dps) fist as an upgrade, then sure, I guess that could work, though to make something like that worth buying over another wargear you'd have to also add FoS since a powerfist would get over-shadowed by something like LC for melee or an SM-styled autocannon for ranged AV, or maybe even TH&SS as a melee AV option, or like you said, CML.

Just saying from a fluff perspective, it's perfectly possible for the weapon to be a lightning claw, powers sword, etc, just not a chainsword :)

Also moving the armor in t2 could be a good idea. Even leaving his damage as it is would work alright since other commanders do quite the same damage. Yet his HP\Armor type\Size is a problem. Also giving him more stuff could make him as good as not termie FC. Dunno about removing melee resist since he will be one and only commander without melee resist. Sounds kinda weak. Only commander without melee resist being space marine melee commander? He gonna be punched to death by LG and laughed at

I was trying to make vanillia Termie armor weak so other armor variants of him needs a reason to buy. It may not work good and you pointed on a good thing. Thank you about that.

I think Asmon only misses thesoftness or he is wrong about one man army idea. FC Terminator is no one man army. In fact, there are wargears which are much deadlier than FC Termie wargears. I can force off an entire Tyranid army with Chaos Lord with Combi-Flamer / Armor of the Inferno combo. Same story for IG too. Or Purgatus? Does insane damage when it hits and stuns entire battle field! Still not good enough? Then what about Warlock? Witchblade of K. / Pro. / Warp Throw or without Warp Throw. Warlock can became one man army in this game more than any other heroes. You can't kill him, knocback, finish his energy and he can still smash you in the face with his Sword! And it has insane cooldown! I would realy like to hear you opinions about these situations.

Termie FC is weak and useless. There are rare situations that we need it. He is much useful without Terminator armor and with his normal wargear. I was only trying to remove that difference. Yes, I liked moving into T2 idea with a lot of changes. So we don't have to wait untill T3. Let the modders decide it. Modders and us had enough experiance with balance issues. Lets say he is OP in 2.5 patch. Okay, we will write our complamnets and discuss on it. We will find the best way to balance it, relaise 2.5.1, if not enough, 2.5.2 but in the end, we will have a whole new hero! A few pathes, a lot of discussment but hey, it is worth it.

I'd say that it is a bad idea to try to reason the guy that calls ppl idots as a response to reasoning. He seems neither adequate nor aware of what happens in the game
