The viewing of the BT has shown me that DRs are not the way to go. They are in need of clear buffs.

You forgot the Kappa. Unless you are also making a case for BB nerfs? :)

Just like all Eldar units, Banshees are for melee, rangers are for umm, ranging (?) hard to tell after 2.4, Shrunken is for suppression, FDs are for melta, WG for small D-Cannons and other units. I mean every Eldar unit is focused on one way and very good about it, but gives nothing else from that. Dark Reapers are same, anti-armor fire power. This even can lead to removing Tempest but it is.

Oh, come on! Yeah, they are "good", but still have no well-defined role and place in eldar roster (or better to say "unique" role, coz eldar have other "pew-pew-pew" units, which are more useful than DRs due to their cost, abilities, time of entering the match). It feels like DRs exist just for gimmick BOs and team games.

well there really was a time where people in vanilla were clamoring for just a ranged anti heavy-infantry unit for eldar since banshees often became too brittle ( as most high model count low hp + high damage specialist units do in end game). I think if they were more focused in that area they would yield better results.

the CC barrage ability feels a little out of place on them,

How hard can it be to see that they are hard counter for heavy infantry?

That is the thing.... they aren't necessarily a full proof hard counter. do they counter heavy infantry , yes. but they don't counter heavy infantry enough to say they are a "hard" counter. hard counters suggest a certain level of cut and dry insurance.. a certain inevitability. dark reapers don't necessarily have that.... when i use dark reapers against heavy infantry races i am almost never certain if my investment will play off even if every single unit fielded by my opponent is heavy infantry.

Whooops, sorry mate I honestly did forget there would be more than number changing to implement such a thing. (Not sarcasm btw)

Compromise: another noob idea pulled from my ass:
Very small range buff, thats all, leave it for a few months and come back to assess it later.
Ring ring. Call Da Boyz!

Suggestion - DRs could be moved to tier 1. Of course with reduced performance and options to improve the squad on tier 2 (Exarch plus some upgrade to range or damage or smth else).
That way eldar player will be given a choice between DA and DR as ranged tier 1 unit (e.g. grenades and shields of DAs vs higher damage output of DRs and ranged superiority at tier 2). So DRs would be in play early, gain exp., and wouldn`t compete with other tier 2 options that much as they do now.

What if they just got vision range to match their max range closer?

I like it, its a small change but could help. I think thats why no one notices the bonus range or doesn't feel like its usefull. 45 like the Farseer would be nice. If needed we can tie it to the aspect or if it has to be to the Exarch :/ But I think it would be even fine on the Basesquad/Aspect.
