Quitting as moderator

Postby Codex » Fri 18 Sep, 2015 6:45 pm

I've spent many years of funtimes playing dow2, moderating these forums, and casting. Long may that fun continue. But because of that I've decided to stop moderating these forums.

The reality is that moderating is a lot like my job irl. Trying to set an example and keep people following standards. And since I'm finding the job stressful the last thing I want to do is open the forums on my break or on my way home and dread the possibility that I have to deal with issue x or y.

One of my friends said recently that all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. So I've decided to make forums about play. The forums have felt like home for a long time. I hope to keep it that way.

That said, I have posted this for transparency's sake. That means I won't be quitting until suitable replacements are put in. By extension that means the rules still apply as always. So play nice, little 'uns.

The internal battery has run dry, the game can now be played. However, clock based events will no longer occur.

Seriously though... We kinda need a new moderator then. Since I really don't have the time and energy to moderate too much. Haven't been able to in months.

If you're really strapped for people, I'll do it. I don't know how I'll manage my new troll-moderator dual nature, but I'll do it FOR THE GREATER GOOD.

1v1?

I'll go USF you go OKW.

Because there's no way I'd agree to a 1v1 on Dow II Image

I support this idea. Now that C is quitting I need a mod here that understands me so I won't get banned. :(

it might be nice if a couple people stepped up as moderators, could lessen the workload so its not such a big task :)

I know that I am new to the community but if you want experience I have bags full. I have been running communities and forums for about 3 years, moderating, organizing, being in charge and everything.

I would be more than happy to look after things around here, I mean every forum is the same when it comes to moderating.

Sounds like an idea worth looking into.

But most importantly, thank you Codex for all your efforts :)

Forest can apply his focus fire techniques to moderating. He'll teach everyone how to "git gud"
