They tweeted For the emperor at the occasion of an official Space Marine stream.

Hold not your hopes high... It is likely Tzeentch trolling us, but if it really did happen. Then we shall all venerate our gods, and probably kill a ton of the enemy, then buy like crazy. But I really hope there is a fair amount of awesome cosmetics options for Non Dlc-ers. On the other hand, I definitely do not want the game to have it's final version end up like the Retribution "Commissar Slaught-fest" that is final patch version. Dear god the blam-acres.

I hope this is true. If they could make a game that replaces the silly retreat function with morale, gets rid of stupid looking special attacks and kill animations, and gets rid of bouncy-castle style knockback in general... I would cream my pants.

Awesome special attacks, kill animations and knockback animations is my pretty favourite things about Dawn of War 2. And im pretty neutral to retreat system, so i dont mind if it will be changed. Still, if retreat will be removed the whole mechanic of the game will be changed.

It would be like the first DoW which is okay for me :D You take losses? Run away from enemy before you loose a squad, reinforce on the field and come back again. That mechanic was perfect for DoW.

Reinforce on the field is a BS for me. Totally dont like it.

People really like those rehearsed deaths and special attacks? It feels like DBZ meets 40K, and is such a lame way for melee combat to be decided. Also having a near invincible unit in a kill animation disrupts combat. It was a micro catastrophe in DOWI.

Which is funny considering how many people bashed Relic for removing T1 sync kills on non-Commander units :D

Fun wise it is great stuff. From competitive point of view it is terrible :)

That's funny because the community actually asked for it to get removed.

Well, there's more than one community for starters :p GR took a lot of flak from other places for pushing that change. I agree with GR on that one though, it was good for the game at the time.

I guess it's mixed feelings on the sync kills. Personally though? I want all the previously released races to come BACK (Scept maybe Necrons, good lord).

Let's make it as it was at Dark Crusade: Tau beat all, Necrons beat Tau :D

I'd love to see new races, but damn did DOWI become a balance nightmare by the time of Dark Crusade and Soulstorm. I think they should stick to ~4 races and do them well.

1) Sega registering the domain doesn't mean jack. I expect they register a bunch of domains for products that might or might not get finished. Most of them are basically free, the company probably spends more on printing calling cards.

2) However, it seems logical DoW3 must be made — Relic already built the engine for CoH2, so why discard it when you can reuse it for another product and cut costs? Something you already did once? And know the franchise sells adequately? It would seem like the logical plan to aim for an eventual DoW3 while still designing CoH2. So yes, I presume it will be announced... at some point.

Acutally in Dark Crusade there was balance at some point :) even Tau was beatable.

Even necrons could be beaten.... If you had a large enough horde of anti-heavy infantry (AKA PLASMAGUN PLASMAGUN OH DEAR GOD PLASMAGUN). And then the occasional AV for necrons vehicles (Although chances are this is what your leman russes will be dealing with if IG).

Necrons were not so hard to play against as Tau. Crisis with flamer and hammerhead was real night mare plus stealth AV teams :)

That is true, but as IG it was brutal. If you didn't get enough anti-infantry you were brutally smashed.

From a COH2 casual player, I could say that Relic or Lelic (By some people in the CoH2.org forum) is trying to ensure that CoH2 does become into a multiplayer game for the competitive scene and I can point out the disasters they accidentally created by mere chance buffs or simple nerfs.

Now before anyone asks why a CoH2 player is relevant in this part of the threat. I would like to make a statement that Relic is in some ways learning from the mistakes of CoH2 so when they do go into the development of Dawn of War III, players who are both old and new don't have to suffer what I have seen just because some idiot thought to bring realism into an RTS game.

So in other words, let them have the time to work out the kinks in CoH2 so some balance disasters don't cause some kind of Chaos invasion in the near future or bring an Ork army just to have 'fun' with the chaos.
As a player from Company of Heroes, it's the World War 2 version of Dawn of War.
Though anyone should be happy that in the realm of 40K, there is no such thing as the M10 crush train.

As a frequenter of the site and a player myself I agree with this sentiment, it feels like Relic may (may) have learned from their mistakes with Coh 2, such as engine optimisation, DLC whoring (I don't think with Sega they will be DLC free, but maybe less than CoH 2 launch) and promoting ESL early rather than at the end of the life cycle.
The internal battery has run dry, the game can now be played. However, clock based events will no longer occur.
