New gaming pc advice please!

Postby Interdiction » Sun 28 Feb, 2016 10:52 am

So I was going to get a new gaming pc but generally have no idea how to tell which parts are better than others, and generally my budget is under $900, so was wondering if these stats were any good? Generally my goal is to run the new BFG: Armada, Eternal Crusade and stuff, and I was possibly gonna get into CoH 2 a bit as well, so hopefully they're decent! ;D

Not sure of dollar pricing (I assume that is USD?) but the R7 360 is not great. Not sure how strict that bidget is but you should aim for at least a GTX 960 or R7 370 for decent performance at 1080p.

It is a long process selecting your new PC as you will be stuck with it for many a year! Getting a custom PC is almost always cheaper than getting a pre built store PC, but not always (always worth checking around).

Use a site like this to build your PC, compare products and see reviews.

Use a site like this to compare the video cards, hard drives, RAM and CPU.

Some extra advice.

-Make sure your graphics card can fit inside your case.
-Make sure your graphics card can fit on your board, with enough space to fit an extra graphics card in the future?
-When building your PC make sure you EARTH yourself. Don't want to fry any of your new boards!
-Make sure your CPU, GPU (graphics/video card) and motherboard are all compatible. Intel and AMD do not always mix!
-You can always buy more RAM later. Don't over do it at the beginning.
-I advise value for money on graphics card. The site above will allow you to compare the price to the benchmark, don't go for a card just because it is higher than another. Look for the bargains!

If you have any more questions, post them up! GOOD LUCK!
