Dawn of war 2 retribution wont start

So I installed Elite mod and played a little bit then I wanted to uninstall it so I just deleted the file elite folder in the game folder and reinstalled retribution and now I cant start it. It only opens the steam loading window and then immediately close it. So I want to ask if there is something else that I have to delete to play unmodded retribution again.

I tried to install the mod again and it start the game with it but when I delete it again it doesn't start

Are you using the same desktop shortcut? Elite and retail use different shortcuts, so if you're still using the same one, it won't start because Elite is no longer installed.

You're not supposed to delete anything to play retail again. You can have Elite installed and still play retail.
The installer creates a shortcut for you on your desktop for you to use to launch Elite. If you want to play retail simply use the Steam shortcut.

I'd suggest you "verify integrity of game cache" in Steam. Library, right click retribution, properties, local files. If you haven't done so already.

I'm also having a similar problem. I simply cannot play retail anymore. No matter if I use different shortcuts or open through steam, I keep ending up in Elite mod. I have no idea how to get back to playing Retribution/Vanilla...

Figured out the solution with help from Ser Topi:

Step 1: Go to Steam Library

Step 2: Right click Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 2: Retribution

Step 3: Open up properties and click on set launch options

Step 4: REMOVE THE FOLLOWING: -modname Elite

If you ever want to go back to playing Elite mod, simply reenter -modname Elite back into the set launch options!

You don't have to add them to the launch options. They come with the Elite desktop shortcut.
