The loota sound has always been shitty imo
deff gun ? honestly it seems I'm hearing a bird taking off.
When I hear a heavy bolter, I'm like : oh fuck, I have to react super fast or I'll lose a squad !!!
When I hear a deff gun ? I want to laugh, well, not damage wise, but it's not scary at all sound wise.
beamy deff gun ? seriously, I don't even hear anything. Well this one can be fun because if your opponent does not watch, he will lose his vehicule.
Is it possible to change their sound ?

Nah I find that the dakka deffgun sound fine if you consider that orks usually tend to favor quantity over quality. Mind you you could always go over the top and make a mess of things by adding the sound over itself as if you were trying to double the amout of bullets being fired. The beammy deffgun though yeah you're right. Although what I'd do is add a electrical charge up noise and keep the rest of the sound the same for a very tense buildup and a disapointing finish.

I agree. Their shooting sounds so weak and whimsical. I am always suprised how quickly I lose models when they shoot at me.^^

How are the sound files handled within the game?
If it's simply a file's playback triggered by the game's code, wouldn't a simple solution be to take the sounds and apply eq settings to it to boost the bass frequencies, and perhaps even shift it's pitch down a bit (for the deff gun).
