Avensa Stronghold

Can we get the old version of the map back? Before it was my favorite map, now I dislike it.

I cant even argue why I dont like the new version. Im just hoping that people agree with me.

The old version was too campy tbh. Not sure if I love the new version either since the power farms are so exposed.

The problem with the previous version was that the mid power farms were too safe and the mid just became a huge camp fest with reinforcement points, set up teams and artillery.

It has more garrisons by the power, which really don't make for a good time if you get bashed.

Map's good, but old one was better.
The internal battery has run dry, the game can now be played. However, clock based events will no longer occur.

Love everything about Avensa, but new energy points location makes me sad

Those new farms just keeps battle away from mid. Which I liked it. :D

Problem is, nearly every 3v3 map has 2 power farms close to your base. This one, you got only one. You keep fighting for like 3 power farms insted of middle VP.

I liked the idea of change, I am okay with the new map, just a little bit replacement would make everyone happy.

Garrisons were never added in previous versions, and four were removed in 2.5.1. Maybe you haven't played the 2.5.1 version.

I'm not changing the map again, as this is closest to the design goal I had; a relatively small map with frantic fighting and unsafe power locations. Unsafe power helps to reward mobility (mainly the middle player) in both their offence and defence without making the map too large. The power locations are not ideal because of their proximity to the VPs, but there's just nowhere else to put them without putting them back in the middle (bad) or major structural alterations. Generators block pathing, so putting natural nodes in many other locations (ie the roads) would be a nightmare for vehicle movement. Putting them further back makes them too safe for what I wanted to achieve.

Yeah, I have played the latest version, and maybe it hasn't got more garrisons but it feels like it has when you consider the proximity to the natural power nodes, since they are often the places people most make use of garrisons due to the sometimes big advantage of sitting in garrisons and camping the power. The map's good, but the abundance of buildings by critical resources can make a good push arguably too punishing.

Maybe I'm missing some features of the old map that moved too, so I don't advocate a change back to the old version anymore, I just don't like the design decision with the garrisons. I don't often play 3v3 though, so I'm no expert.

I greatly like the new version over the old one. As stated, the old one was just a camp/arty fest due to the super natural power farms. Thanks indrid!

I never regarded this a competitive or balanced map. I liked the design because it made the games more lengthy and I think this is the most important aspect for 3v3 games. It was just fun.

Now I feel like the average game length on this map has dropped. If one of your mates makes a mistake it is pretty much gg because you lose power. And that is pretty frustrating. I feel like a mistake is way too penalizing now.

Also I feel like the middle lane is completely unimportant now. Middle VP is only being ninja capped all the time, which I also think is very annoying.
