Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo I'm a CoH 2 whore but I'm curbing my addiction (plays like crap, so little motivation to play it).
I'm trying to come back to DoW II by having a go at the 1v1 ladder, however a lot of my friends I used to play with either also haven't played in a while or are so unreliable. I keep getting rekt all the time and have had a long hiatus of approximately a year or so since I last played regularly.
A problem I have with DoW II is I attach too much to it, every loss feels very personal, which is odd because a loss in any other game is just a sign to move on and change, but with DoW II I've always felt like I'll never get any better. Thus, I need playmates to ease me back in to this game who I can talk to whilst playing rather than getting 3v3 heroes come in and embarrassingly bash me to pieces with stuff I should know how to beat.

The internal battery has run dry, the game can now be played. However, clock based events will no longer occur.

Always up for some casual 1v1s if the majority of the clan aren't online. I may join yourself and Crew for a bit of variety.

I've heard this from quite a few who play DOW2 and, studying psychology as I am, is going to try and see whether there actually is an explanation for this behaviour.

There will be, just can't think of a proper definition atm.

As some of you know I as well take a lot of losses real personal and they piss me off by far more than any other game i've played and i've been playing RTS's for over 12 years.
I honestly think it has something to do with all the "lucky random/unexpected" specials or path fails that decide so many 1v1's you feel you got robbed instead of properly being outplayed

I have the same emotional attachment to losing.
Feel free to add me on steam and hmu whenever you want to 1v1. I feel that if I learn to accept my losses, I'll play more confidently instead of playing desperately and I'll be more consistent.
I think for this reason when Im in a game for low level players, I do horribly (because in my mind I SHOULD win), and when I enter an open game I play much more consistently (because I expect to lose, I don't put as much pressure on myself).

In RTSs ladder anxiety is cause by an implied connection of RTS's to intellect, losses in RTS games tend to hurt intellectual pride and as such tend to hit more than say an FPS where once can blame reflexes, teammates etc.

It's common in all competitive games, may them be real sports or video games.
For anyone with this problem you may want to read this.
